Villa #6 was a perfect spot for a quiet vacation! Situated almost right on the fine, black sand beach and just a few steps from the beautiful pool and restaurant, this is THE place to stay. Cook in their big kitchen, eat at their fine dining restaurant or take a short drive into town for delicious food. We took a side trip to Volcano Arenal which is just a couple hour drive into the rainforest. Just a great place to stay!

We had a wonderful time at Villa #6. It's situated on a lovely cove with many birds and howler monkeys living in the immediate area. The yard frames the view of sunset over the ocean. Swimming in the calm cove and the long pool is excellent. Open floor plan, sizable kitchen, all the amenities -- easy for folks to be together. We took morning walks on the quiet roads and the high views are spectacular. Can't wait to get back!

Villa 6 was graet. All the amenities you would need and noting more. The black sand beach is beautiful! We like to swim and the ocean was superb! The pool too!. Birds of all types visit for breakfast on the patio over looking the ocean. Wonderful hikes and mountain bike rides up on the hills--a great workout and a great way to see more birds and howler monkeys.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely villa (#26). We had a great deal of space to move around as a group of 5 and it was nicely appointed. We enjoyed the plunge pool and the view of the ocean. It is important to note that this villa is right at security gate which is great because it is close to the entrance and there is a sense of safety; however, it might not be if you don't enjoy traffic noise while on the deck (although during our trip it was minimal). The folks in the office were very helpful. The location was solid. There was restaurants close and stores close by. What I have to highlight is the amazing MARACUYA Beach Club Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious which is why we enjoyed dinner multiple nights along with lunch. However, what is really important was the staff. They were thoughtful and engaging. A big thank you to Cesar, Maikel, Carlos, Rodrigo, Vincenzo, Renaldo, and Julia.

My husband and I stayed at the Bahia Pez Vela (BPV) March 2021 and loved everything about our stay. We made reservations through their website and took advantage of the listed special, "A Week is Never Enough" and got a great deal. The office staff was nice and helpful to work with (thank you Cesar, Jackie and Karina). We stayed in Studio # 39. It had beautiful water views, a private cooling pool/jacuzzi, queen sized bed (comfortable), frig, small kitchenette, TV and bistro table and chairs. It was a bit dated, but clean and comfortable - perfect for the two of us. The studio is situated at the furthest point from the beach, main pool and restaurant, but not a problem since we had a car. They have a gated entrance with a gate attendant, and security staff. We always felt safe. The beach is private, has fine black volcanic sand, lounge chairs are available upon request, and kayaks available for rent. We went on a sunset cruise that picked us up right on the beach. Very fun! The resort is surrounded by well maintained trees, plants and flowers. Lots of birds (Magpies), some lizards, and howler monkeys. A group of about 10 howler monkeys could be seen high up in a tree down by the beach in the morning eating the leaves. Fun to watch! Our favorite part of the stay at BPV was the restaurant Maracuya and their staff. The food, service and chill atmosphere were exceptional. The staff went out of their way to educate us on the local area, activities, and culture as well as show patience as we practiced our Espanol (thank you Maikel, Carlos, Rodrigo, Vincenzo, Cesar, Renaldo, and Julia). BBQ night is a must with great food and live music. Some general info regarding the our trip to BPV (Guanacaste) that may be helpful: - Rent a car to get around and explore the nearby beaches. They all have their own vibe. Ocotal and Coco are the closest to BPV, but there are many others. The roads are rough so a 4-wheel drive is highly recommended. - Auto Mercado is a local grocery store in nearby Coco (groceries, produce, beer, wine, ect). There is a bank with an ATM in same shopping center. - If you go on a fishing trip and catch fish, have them fillet it and take with you. The outstanding chefs at Maracuya will cook it for you (for a fee). - We were required to get Covid tests within 3 days prior to returning to the US. We went to Coco Medical and Dental Center. The facility was clean and staff was friendly, quick and efficient. Appointments can be made easily online. Cost for test was $90 each. - Day trips (sunset cruises, fishing trips, ATV tours) - we made reservations when we got there (not online) and negotiated better prices. Probably a ton more info I'm forgetting, but it was a great trip even during these crazy times with Covid. The locals care about Covid safety and tourism, and were respectful of Covid safety measures - we felt safe. We would definitely stay at BPV in the future.
