RIO PERDIDO is in Guanacaste, 60 minutes southeast of Liberia's international airport, near the base of the Miravalles Volcano. Regional attractions include Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and Palo Verde National Park. The centerpiece of the 600-acre private reserve is a unique THERMAL RIVER that runs for over a mile along the base of a rocky gorge. Visitors access the hot river by descending stone stairwells and trails. There are a couple of dozen untouched river pools to swim in. The ARCHITECTURALLY AWARDED restaurant has sweeping terraces that afford views of the canyons, volcanoes and the Miravalles dwarf forest. There is a full-service spa, a bar/lounge, and 3 hot mineral pools with floating sun decks and wet bar. There are 15 miles of hiking and biking trails. Breakfast, wireless internet and guest parking are complimentary. The staff can provide 24 hours concierge services, tour/ticket assistance and wedding services.

We spent the first four days of December at Rio Perdido and they were magical, from check in to departure. Roy greeted us as our shuttle pulled up to registration. Roy asked if we would prefer to eat before being taken to our bungalow. He said he would join us at our table after

Carolyn- what a wonderful review. Thank you! Firstly, you sound like guests that perfectly match what we have proposed to create. We know that things are not perfect and we will never stop working towards what we consider could to the natural setting justice. Second: we are always thrilled to hear our guests say that they will return... and what we've noticed since we inaugurated the hotel 5 years ago, is that most guests actually follow through with said, wonderful promise! Please know that we always do something extra special for returning guests. We always make it feel fresh and special! So... this is the ideal scenario: hosting conscious individuals whom appreciate being active but also expect to achieve disconnection, true restfulness... and proper reconnection. It sounds a bit pase, but it is RP's reality. Happy 25---!!! PURA VIDA. Gabriel

Our family (children ages 8 and 10) enjoyed four nights in a center bungalow in May. My husband and I loved the modern and thoughtful design of our bungalow. The cool, dark interior surrounded by lush green forrest was soothing and zen. And my kids loved coming “home” to a

We loved the Zip Line tour with Juan Diego and Marvin. Highly recommend it. Juan Diego and Marvin made it simple and fun. Perfect way to spend the morning. Love Rio Perdido so far. Now off to the thermal river/hot springs.

I can’t say enough about Rio Perdido! My husband and I stayed in Bungalo 10 and had an amazing view of Howler monkeys every morning in Capuchin by the pool in the afternoon! The property is just breathtaking, feels like you’re in the treetops! Lush, green in perfectly humid. Two
