RIO PERDIDO is in Guanacaste, 60 minutes southeast of Liberia's international airport, near the base of the Miravalles Volcano. Regional attractions include Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and Palo Verde National Park. The centerpiece of the 600-acre private reserve is a unique THERMAL RIVER that runs for over a mile along the base of a rocky gorge. Visitors access the hot river by descending stone stairwells and trails. There are a couple of dozen untouched river pools to swim in. The ARCHITECTURALLY AWARDED restaurant has sweeping terraces that afford views of the canyons, volcanoes and the Miravalles dwarf forest. There is a full-service spa, a bar/lounge, and 3 hot mineral pools with floating sun decks and wet bar. There are 15 miles of hiking and biking trails. Breakfast, wireless internet and guest parking are complimentary. The staff can provide 24 hours concierge services, tour/ticket assistance and wedding services.

No complaints. Even the COVID testing done on site was excellent. (Had to go elsewhere with the 4 year old though). Breakfast view and food was awesome. Just relax and don't be rushed. The beverages were awesome. I think there is a kiwi shortage from all the Kiwiques. They took such good care of my children and the other couples that we traveled with said the same. Easy to get around. Easy walks but they also had carts they would drive us around in. The rooms were amazing. Large. The outdoor shower is breathtaking. Then you take a shower in it and don't want to get out. Just awesome all around. Would stay again for sure.

Hello iporter2, Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with us! We are glad you and your family felt well taken care of with our service, food, drinks, amazing views, rooms, and even the COVID testing. We wish that we could assist with the test for younger children but protocols require that these tests are taken directly at a laboratory. We hope to see you again soon!

We got a day pass at Rio Perdito to do the ziplining and river tubing. The canyon that Rio Perdito carved is stunning, and nice and cool in the hot summer. The river tubing was our favorite, and it is a combination of slow relaxing floating parts and exciting rapids. The zipline course and Tarzan swing are super fun. Our teenagers had smiles on their faces the whole day. The resort is beautiful, and the thermal pools are extensive. The drinks at the bar are to-die-for. The adventure guides are all friendly and competent. Highly recommend.

If you love nature, this is your hotel. The nearest beach is hundreds of miles away, you´ll enjoy of a natural forest, thermal rivers, swimming pools with thermal water, it´s the perfect place in order to get disconnected from the world for a few days (they have free WiFi also) The food is delicious, the staff is really friendly, I felt safe and sound every single minute. You can do trekking here, but at night is not recommended, you can get lost easily, they have expert guide that can help you if you love star gazing, there are a couple of perfect places for it, but you´ll need a guide with you.

We absolutely love Rio Perdido. We visited on a day trip during our first visit to Costa Rica and opted to stay for a night this time. The bungalows are very nice and clean with lovely porches. The wifi is very strong. The staff was wonderful and COVID protocol was great - everyone had masks on and cleaning procedures were great. All dining options are outdoors, which was great. The thermal river and hotel pools are wonderful! We wished we could have stayed longer!
