What an experience! Hotel has four different pools with different temperatures, this is great fo relaxation. Far better is swimming is the river, heated by a nearby source. Can't get me out, this is so pleasant. Besides the hotel is well designed, open patio with nice view over the forest. Service is top, as is the food. If there is...

Hello "Mic", thanks for your review. I feel similarly about the river. Actually, this IS the "lost river" (rio rerdido)...it is the main reason why we embarked on this labor of love. So, let us all prune up, out of sheer respect for our amazing thermal river. Warm regards! Gabriel

By far a major highlight of your trip! So much to do and see, you don't even know where to begin. Between the resort itself and all their incredibly friendly and helpful staff it was an incredible experience! The natural thermal pools, the hike to and from them, the resort thermal pools and the swim up bar made for a...

Great Food! Nice rooms! 3 heated pools! We really had fun on the local zip line. Located over a beautiful canyon, with about 12 separate lines. The canyon has hot and cold running water, heated by the nearby volcano. Plenty of places to hike and explore. All in all a really enjoyable place to visit!

Dear Gary, It sounds like you had a great time. Would you be willing to share with us how we could be better...if there is anything that we could have done (or not done) to get that 5th bubble? We always strive to be excellent... according to our service ideals, "very good" is not good enough... If you do have...

Dear Guadalupe, I couldn't agree with you more! Beautiful undisturbed nature...and warm natural mineral water...what a combo. OK, back to being a bit more humble... Thanks so much for your positive words. Indeed, Laura and Mario are both very special people. We are huge fans. Actually, Laura recently came back to work after her maternity leave. Rio Perdido was fantastic! Bit of a rough road getting into the resort but well worth it once you arrive! We were greeted with cold towels and refreshing juice drinks and then shuttled to our bungalows which were private and beautiful!! We stayed at 4 different amazing resorts while in Costa Rica, and Rio Perdido had the best food by...

Hi Emily, Your review, with its almost adamant recommendation, is quite flattering. That being said, we are concerned about your description of the pools and the surrounding areas. The windy season has extended into April and the winds blow anything that is around right into the pools. Nevertheless, we have a couple of colleagues that are dedicated to these areas....

I am already planning when I can come back! I can only swim in warm water so the hot spring river pools and the resort pools are heaven for me. And it is a miracle but we were often alone in the pools depending on the day. The food was very good and you don't want to go anywhere else...

Let me make your trip-planning a little easier for you: Stop looking- you should stay here. I consider myself to be pretty well traveled in Costa Rica- I spent a semester here in college traveling through the whole country, then came back a second time last year, then came back a third time this year. I would rank this as...

If you plan on staying multiple places in Costa Rica you must end your trip here because everywhere else will pale in comparison. The staff is beyond exceptional. The activity staff ( Marvin, Alfonso, Martinez... To name a few) were a blast, really made zip lining and tubing memorable. We made so many great memories here and can't wait to...

Upon our arrival and greeting at Rio Perdido, we knew we were in for something special. We spend three glorious days there. We enjoyed all of the activities which included white water tubing, zip lining, hiking and the spa. Being from the cold north we enjoyed the thermal springs the most. Unbelievable ! Very much an eco tourism place, it...

Hi Nicole! This is all great advice. WAZE works very well throughout all of Costa Rica, so assuring you have a good international data plan prior to traveling is usually a good idea. Nevertheless, if you do decide to wing it, our website has a "location" section that makes it relatively easy to find us. Also, the Bagaces locals are...

We were very impressed with the whole experience. The all the employees went out of their way to make our experience special, waiters, bell boy, front desk, activity guides.
