I stayed at the guesthouse while going to Spanish lessons for 2 weeks. In 12 nights I didn't get even 1 nights sleep. Multiple dogs barking all night and roosters crowing from about midnight. For a small town Orosi is a very noisy place. Did not enjoy sharing the kitchen with other guests who never left, not the best experience but my professora Isabel was super and I stayed for the lessons

I spent 5 nights in a single room upstairs which was comfy enough (excellent sleep). In the property there are many showers + toilets, unfortunately hot water takes ages to come. Big kitchen well supplied. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Big supermarkets close by. Plenty of buses to/from Cartago. Bus to volcán Irazú departs at 09:00 from Cartago Tierra Blanca's bus stop (calle 1 # Av. 1) and returns at 12:30 or 15:15 (1'300 colones). For the loop via Ujarrás (ruins) and Cachí it's very feasible by bus as hourly from Paraíso there's a bus to Loayza (from 6 am) which is only one km away from puente la Hamaca that you cross to reach Orosi. Nice walkings in the hills covered with coffee plants.

This place is great for a few peaceful days away from it all. There are so many hikes just walking out of town into the beautiful Valley and all the info you need to do them you can gain at Linda's. This is a clean place with a pretty communal area and also the cheapest digs we got anywhere on our Costa Rica trip.

Nice and cheap, I really loved the common area. I was the only guest at the time, so it felt quite lonely. The girl working there could barely give me any information, but the volunteer was really helpful. I guess that it can get really nice when there are more people around! I would go back

We booked this hostel on the basis of the website etc stating they organised lots of activities through the hostel but unfortunately there is rarely any staff there or the staff are not forthcoming, we also went to the Spanish school to try but had the same result. There is however some useful guides in the kitchen area. On our last day we met the owner who seemed very nice and helpful. We stayed in a dorm room which was cheap but fairly basic and a little damp and dark. Bathrooms were on the whole fine. Shared areas are pretty good and everyone we met was very friendly. Kitchen is small. We loved the resident dogs Peanut and Elvis. Overall we loved Orosi and on a budget this is a fine spot but could be better with some little improvements.
