My husband, my 5 year old, and I wanted a peaceful vacation so we decided on a trip to CR (again) but secluded in the rainforest. It was one of the best vacations! It had the peace we wanted but there was also enough to do for our daughter, plus the property was stunning. The best part was how accommodating the staff was, specifically to our daughter! And Frederico and Lupita were top-notch employees who made our experience even better.

The hotel is simply spectacular, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive (Francisco, Max and Javier and get honorable mention). If you book, you get 3 different hotels in one, and can access all of them, as well as the restaurants located in each one. For sure recommend.

It was the most luxurious experience with the extreme customer service that deeply focus and invest to do the best for your comfort and make the most beautiful memory of your trip. Extremely clean and beautiful, with an amazing design, great food and excellent restaurant environment. The hotel mainly has three sections with different level, all perfect, different amazing restaurants with live music, delicious food and extremely good service that would fit to all levels. A great spa, amazing yoga location (and class), beautiful tours, breathtaking hot springs and fabulous view. I recommend this place to whomever visit Costa Rica. Pura vida!

If I could describe the grounds of Nayara in one word it would be stunning! If I could describe how I was treated in one word it would be royalty! This Resort is absolutely beautiful!!! We stayed in a room with a private plunge pool with gorgeous views of the volcano! The surroundings are incredible you can honestly just spend all day outside taking in the views, watching animal life (we saw armadillos, sloths and tons of pretty birds) they have hanging bridges on the property, daily activities like yoga, nature sight seeing and hot springs! The food and restaurants were excellent, we really enjoyed all the food, staff as well as live entertainment! From the front desk, wait staff and housekeeping everyone went above and beyond! They are all so happy, friendly and really make you feel like you are the most important person there! Even when it rains everything is set up that you are still able to enjoy everything! The restaurants are covered, the pools are covered and balconies are as well! There isn’t one negative thing I can say about my experience here! It was hands down the best place I’ve ever stayed!!

I really can’t put into words how amazing our stay was at Nayara Gardens. The staff was incredible and they treat you like royalty. They remembered our names each time we came back and were so accommodating and friendly. They even decorated my room and made a cute little towel cake for my birthday! The grounds are absolutely BEAUTIFUL with so much to do. You can easily stay at the resort for a week or more without leaving and not be bored for a second. We got within 3 feet of a sloth on the hotel grounds within an hour of arriving. Beautiful views of the volcano and so much flora and fauna to observe. Hot springs were private, gorgeous, and comfortable. We also booked our excursions through the hotel and they were top notch and small groups made it all the more enjoyable. The pool room was INSANE! My favorite part was lounging in our private, covered pool and watching the rain 😍 the food was AMAZING too. You definitely pay for it as it’s quite expensive compared to downtown La Fortuna (about $100 for two people per meal if you order drinks and apps), but every meal we had was delicious and so worth it. You really feel the magic of the rainforest and pura vibes when you’re here. I really hope to come back some day! Thanks to all at Nayara Gardens for the amazing experience!

Nayara Gardens was beautiful. The casitas were thoughtfully designed and gave you the impression of being amongst the rain forest. The staff was wonderful.... professional, attentive, knowledgeable. We were lucky in that we got to see the volcano every singe day from our patio. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel/resort to anyone I know.

Nayara Springs exceeded our vacation expectations! The grounds of the resort are absolutely breathtaking! This resort feels like a private rainforest oasis, complete with wildlife, hot springs, nature paths, infinity pools, hanging bridges, and private casitas that are beyond luxurious! The pools, bars, and restaurants were filled with delicious drinks and amazing meals. The staff went above and beyond to set up reservations, excursions, and make sure we had everything we needed to have the best vacation possible. The staff was friendly and personable, polite and truly helpful. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation exploring the Arenal volcano area with its amazing wildlife and adventure activities during the day, and then came back to Nayara Gardens every evening to a relaxing environment that made our vacation perfect. We highly recommend Nayara Springs as your next vacation destination!

Nayara Gardens Our overall experience at this hotel was nothing short of incredible, and we cannot wait to return. We stayed for three nights during our 9 day trip to Costa Rica, and we didn’t want to leave. We had excursions everyday and did some specialty dining too. The second we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by one of the concierges. They took care of our luggage and gave us a choice of two welcome drinks. Carolina helped us get settled in and reviewed our planned excursions, pampering, and dining reservations with us. She also made a dinner reservation for us the night we arrived and coordinated it with our Night Walk excursion off the property. She provided us with little pamphlets, so we could track the animals we saw on our excursions, and gave us a map/run-down of the hotel and where everything is. We arrived a little earlier than check in, but our room was ready right after we finished eating with a beautiful view of the Arenal Volcano. Our lunch at La Terraza was delicious. My husband had the fish tacos (way bigger than we expected!), and I had yummy ceviche with delicious side sauces. We stayed in casita deluxe 23. It was right by the entrance to the main area, which worried me at first, but everything is so private at Nayara, that it was not a problem at all. The way the casitas were built with the surrounding gardens makes you feel so secluded. We could hear some live music coming from Asia Luna one night while we waited outside for our golf cart to go to dinner. We loved it!!! Everything was so clean and absolutely spotless. I am a germ freak and usually get grossed out by hotels, but the cleanliness at this hotel is top notch. Even the restrooms around the property are spotless!!! The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are in glass jars instead of disposal plastic bottles. They all smell delicious too - I used them instead of my own that I brought. The beds are comfortable and the linens are soft. The deck had a jacuzzi, hammock, and two seats for lounging. The garden right in front of the deck had huge leaves that make you feel like you are surrounded by nature at Nayara. My husband saw some little frogs and hummingbirds while sitting outside. For evening turndown service, you even get cold water next to each side of bed (the tap at Nayara is safe to drink) and a little nighttime snack by your bed! Amazing. On our first night, we did a Night Walk tour and had Jaha. She was AMAZING! It was such an awesome way to start our stay. We drove about 20 minutes for the tour. Jaha gave us flashlights and explained that she would walk in front of us while on the path of in case a fer-de-lance was in the path because they blend so easily and she didn’t want us to get bit! Immediately I felt safe with her. She found us tons of frogs, insects, snakes (including a yellow viper, fer-de-lance, and a salmon bellied snake), and a little bat eating a fruit. We saw a red-eyed-tree frog and then we also saw two of them mating. Amazing! I don’t even know how she was able to spot half of these things, but it was so impressive and such an incredible experience. She (and really ALL the tour guides at Nayara) are so knowledgeable about the creatures and rainforest. My husband and I learned so much!! Jaha took amazing pictures on my husband’s phone too! She was just as excited as we were and that made the experience that much more special. When we got back, we got dressed and went to Mis Amores; they arranged for a golf cart to pick us up and drive us there. The manager and wait staff were all so friendly and welcoming. My husband and I both ordered different fish dishes and everything tasted good and fresh. We were full but ordered dessert and it did not disappoint! The next morning we took a 6AM trip to Caño Negro; it’s a LONG trip but so worth it! Our tour guide was Mariella. After the two hour drive (remember, you’re going close to Nicaragua for this tour!), we arrived and the bathrooms were so clean. Mariella set up a breakfast table on the outside of the boat, so we ate while we floated down the river to look for animals with her and the boat driver. It was surreal!!!!! She took pictures of us with my phone too! As I stated previously, all the tour guides are so knowledgeable. We saw a Jabiru (and Mariella helped us get pictures of this on our phone), two two-toed sloths, bats, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, all different types of birds, some big lizard, and I’m sure there is more that I can’t remember as I am typing this. It was so beautiful!!!! Mariella made sure we got a good view of everything we spotted - she even set up the telescope for the sloth that was so hidden in the trees. The boat driver would bring the boat up close so my husband could get nice pictures with his camera; Mariella helped my husband find good angles to take his pictures too (Jaha also did this!)! After we returned to La Fortuna, we ate lunch at a local restaurant and it was yummy! It was superrrr hot in there though, so if you are the type to overheat easily (like me), I highly suggest getting some ice cream. Since we did the early tour, we had plenty of time after to chill until our wine pairing later. We went to the pool and were greeted with fresh cold water. There are three jacuzzis right off the pool area; two are more like soaking tubs and the third is bigger and has jets. The pool is beautiful and pristine. The workers there, like everywhere else in Nayara, are so friendly and attentive. We didn’t get any drinks at the pool but there were other people who were and seemed very content! There is SPF and aloe available at the pool as well. Our absolute best night was our wine pairing at Nostalgia Wine Bar with José. The service at Nostalgia was top notch. José is SO knowledgeable about his wines. He explained to us how the pairing works (wine - food - wine!), he gave us an explanation of each wine, how it is made, what notes it should hit, and how it would compliment the food. In addition to the food being truly gourmet, José was spot on with every wine he picked!!!! The wine was so delicious and complimented the food perfectly. He told us about how he traveled to Argentina and did wine tastings and chose wines to bring to Nayara. He showed us a video of how one of the wines was made and fermented; we loved that he was excited to share his experience with us because it made it more special for us too! It is obvious that he put so much thought into pairing the perfect wines with our meal, and it was so appreciated! My husband said he has never experienced a meal that had so much thought put into it, and I have to agree!! (I just need to digress for a moment and say my husband and I are from NYC. We know good food and we’ve done our share of traveling. This was hands down one of the best meals and experiences we’ve ever had. EVER!!!) This night was the highlight of our dinners, truly. It is a must-do!! (Thank you, José!!!!!) The next day we did the Hanging Bridges tour with Alonso!! Like Jaha and Mariella, he was so knowledgeable and warm! On our ride to the bridges, we saw a sloth and our driver, Francisco, spotted two different types of tucans! Alonso helped us get pictures of both with our phones and took some amazing videos for us as well!!! He also took pictures of us on the bridges and by the waterfall that are amazing! This was really nice because I’m terrible at remembering to take out my phone to take pictures on our trips. It rained in the rainforest (naturally), but my husband and I loved it. We were prepared with rain jackets and hiking shoes, so the rain didn’t both us at all! We saw turantulas in their holes, a yellow viper, beautiful birds, more leaf cutter ants, poison dart frogs (so cool!), and my husband spotted a helmeted lizard in a tree that is usually hard to find! Afterwards, they had a picnic set up for us under the gazebo. It was so cute and the food was delicious! Our experiences with all of the tours were like none that we’ve ever had before; each guide is so incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about the animals we encountered and about Costa Rica too. When we returned, we had a couples’ massage. We were upgraded to the spa in the springs and everyone there was attentive and welcoming. Our massage was SOOOO relaxing. My husband and I both felt like they worked out the knots in areas where we carry tension! It was perfect. At night we had dinner at Besame Mucho. This is the ONLY hiccup of the whole trip, and it wasn’t really a big deal. We had a really delicious meal. When it was done, our server asked if we wanted a golf cart to go back to our room, but I wanted to walk. Here is the hiccup - we waited and waited and waited for the bill to sign (because we wanted to make sure we gave our server a nice tip), and 40 minutes later it never came. Because of the way the table is tucked in, we could not make eye contact to ask for the check. Eventually the manager came to tell us we didn’t have to sign, which was weird because we signed for everything else throughout our trip. I guess they were giving us our space to finish our wine and we didn’t want to seem rude by getting up and flagging them down. It did not ruin our night, but was just kind of awkward after a nice meal. This probably isn’t an experience we’d do again. To shake the weird feeling, we decided to return to Nostalgia wine bar to see José again and leave off on a positive note, since we enjoyed ourselves so much the night before! My husband and I had a glass each, thanked José again for such an amazing and memorable experience and went on our way! Check out was a breeze and the concierge was helpful and polite, as usual. Being guests at Nayara far exceeded our expectations. We’ve never had such consistent, pleasant customer service before coupled with fantastic food and an unbelievable room (even though we had the “basic” room it was still all very luxe)! We can’t wait to return!
