Nayara was more than a place to visit. Luis Solano was amazing from day one when he invited us for a drink to get to know us. At that moment, we knew we were in a special place. Each staff member made us feel that we were the only guests on the resort. Each experience was better than the next. We highly recommend the Mixology coffee and cooking classes. Also, looking for animals with the staff driving the golf carts is a must in addition to at least one experience in one of the luxurious spas. The grounds and accommodations are pristine and luxurious. This is a definite place to stay!

Nayara is amazing! Believe the hype, it’s true! I’ve stayed in luxury resorts before, this was by far the best I have ever stayed in. I don’t even know where to begin to describe how wonderful Nayara is. Customer service was excellent from arrival to departure. First of all, our villa was decorated for my birthday upon arrival with balloons, a card and a gifted bottle of wine chilled and ready. Every single staff person we encountered greeted us, smiled at us and was very (and sincerely) friendly and extremely helpful. There wasn’t a single request I made that was not granted, whether it was ordering something that was not on the menu at the time, or requesting a scale so I could weigh my bags before departure. They even offered to get an item out of our vehicle and bring it to our villa when I mentioned I needed it. The grounds and villas are very well kept. The pandemic has really hurt a lot of places where they are short staffed and this inevitably impacts the quality of service. Not the case at all at Nayara. They clearly have the staff to do the job effectively and efficiently. Our villa was cleaned twice a day. I turned in laundry and received it back within hours. I saw them touching up paint, cleaning lamp posts and the outside handrails of our villa. There were no cobwebs or nooks and crannies that had been missed. It. Was. Clean! Twice a day as if it were cleaned for new guests each time. Food was delicious and fresh each time. When I received chips, they were warm from just being prepared. Juice was made daily. Even syrup ingredients for cocktails were made right there at the resort. We had the best, most tender sirloin steak we’d ever had through room service. The breakfast buffet is a large spread with hot and cold food, the chef right there preparing eggs, waffles, French toast. The chef could see I loved the French toast and began to set some bread aside for me to prepare it right upon my arrival. I haven’t even mentioned the amenities and the vibe of the resort itself. You really are in the rainforest, it’s not fake. There are rivers and streams going through the resort. The wildlife is abundant and present and you can hear their sounds through out the night and day. Many, many times I just nearly fell asleep while just listening to the rain and nature while on my patio or outside in the jacuzzi. It was exactly what I was looking for. It was amazing to be right there in the middle of the rainforest, relaxing, listening to nature, yet still having all the luxuries of a resort. But it doesn’t necessarily have a resort type vibe, meaning the resort doesn’t feel imposing on nature or taking away from it. You simply feel a part of the natural environment. I also appreciated their commitment to sustainable practices and reduction in use of plastic. In case you’re wondering, each villa / casita is private, detached from others and surrounded by greenery for privacy. Can you hear people walking by? Yes. Can you spot a chair or the hammock on someone else’s patio through the greenery as you walk by. Yes. All that to say, there is privacy, but it’s not like a brick wall of plants where absolutely nothing can be seen. The outdoor shower however, is private, behind a wall (not just plants…lol). And if there is a jacuzzi on the balcony it’s usually further back enough that it won’t be seen by those passing by and it has a sheer curtain around it for additional privacy (the balcony wraps nearly 3 quarters around the villa). Also, while the casita/villa is all under one tall roof (meaning the walls separating the bedroom area from the bathroom area do not reach the height of the ceiling) the washroom (toilet) does have its own ceiling with the walls around it connecting to its ceiling for more privacy. I am probably one of the pickiest people you could ever meet when it comes to hotel accommodations. I’m always disappointed when I pay for luxury and receive lack luster service or accommodations. I couldn’t find a single thing to complain about this place. It 100% met and exceeded my expectations. It is worth the price. I will definitely be back. I’m so glad I snagged that last reservation for my stay.

Absolutely amazing experience! The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was exceptional. We arrived at midnight due to a flight cancellation/rebooking, and we had a full staff to greet us. The rooms initially were the oversized king beds and not the king and a double like we were expecting. They didn’t have any of the other split bed rooms so they simply added two additional rooms on the house, and got us the expected rooms the next day. The food was incredible! We had a large group and they still managed to have all our dinner plates touch down at the exact same time. Oh and that volcano view…. Thank you Nayara!

We spent six incredible days at Nayara Gardens! Their customer service and their ability to make you feel at home is simply the best. Our Nayara adventure began when we were picked up at the airport by one of their drivers Greddy— the two and half drive was pleasant and picturesque. Upon arrival, we situated ourselves in their adorable “casitas” (as our 3 y/o daughter called their suites) with perfect views of the Arenal Volcano. We later met up with Fernando in concierge who quickly created an itinerary for our family— good enough to really enjoy the town of Arenal/La Fortuna but with enough space for relaxation (we’re still on vacation) and of course mindful of our budget. We loved all of our excursions— our favorite was visiting the hanging bridge with Mariela who was so knowledgeable (and patient walking with an inquisitive little one) and helped us spot the coolest animals (even a howler monkey who stubbornly sat on the last hanging bridge). Our daughter loved seeing the animals in their natural habitat! Nayara has several restaurants to offer— with all different types of cuisines (ohh and breakfast was included with our stay which was just lovely). At La Terrezza, Yessy, Alexa and Alex were truly the sweetest. Yessy won our little girl’s heart by always offering her something to color and acknowledging her whenever she saw her. By the end of the trip, our little girl gave Yessy the cutest goodbye hug. Truly a reflection of how special and at home we felt. If you’re a sushi lover/Asian cuisine— check out Asia Luna (delicious)! My only small critique is that some of the dishes at all the restaurants we visited were a little on the salty side, but overall delicious. We want to highlight one more incident that made Nayara even more special for us. During the third day of our visit our little girl seemed a little lethargic with little to no desire to eat or drink. We along with one of their wait staff Alexa noticed. Alexa was so kind to inform us that the hotel could arrange for our little girl to be seen by a doctor. We said yes— and she quickly brought Jefferson from the front desk and he made sure to call the local doctor’s office and arranged for our little one to be seen at once. It turned out that our daughter was experiencing dehydration— quickly she felt better and the hotel made sure we knew we could make any requests with the kitchen to ensure our daughter recovered as quickly and as safe as possible. By the end of the day, our little girl was back to herself, but we appreciate Nayara’s guide as we would not have known where to start searching for a respectable doctor. Now returning to the more fun part of our trip, the natural thermal springs at Nayara are so pretty and there are so many of them that you feel like each family has its own private one. Don’t forget to check out their regular pool at the top with its bar (the best pina colada was from that bar). Lastly, their spa at Nayara Springs (sister property in the same location) was just spectacular. Your spa “room” is outdoor with the best sounds surrounding you— nature. My masseuse put me in pure relaxation mode. Highly recommend any self-pampering opportunity. Our trip finally came to an end and Nayara graciously coordinated our drop off to our next stop (three and a half hours away from La Fortuna) with their driver Eric who made sure we stopped for a delicious lunch with a view. Erick dropped us right at the steps of our next stop. Thank you Nayara for all of your attentions and for making us feel extra special. Highly recommend everyone to stay at Nayara!!

Stayed here over spring break with my family (2 adults, 2 teens). Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Stylish and refined luxury at its best. The spa was magical and the treatment fabulous. I walked over to the adults only section (Nayara Springs) and was blown away by the amenities and design, from the beautiful pool to the hidden charming coffee cafe in the middle of the jungle. Loved, loved, loved Nayara.

Staying at Nayara Gardens was the best vacation experience we have ever had. We stayed for our honeymoon. The grounds and atmosphere are incredibly romantic. We never felt like the resort was too crowded. Many casitas have private pools, so the resort pools were never crowded. Our room had a view of the volcano directly out of the balcony with a hammock and outdoor hot tub - magical. The view was perfectly framed by the forest, yet the groundskeepers maintain the trees and bushes for privacy so that your balcony is never visible to the guests walking the grounds. Each of the restaurants had a unique experience. Our favorite was Amor Loco which had a jazz lounge atmosphere, the food here was excellent. The Nostalgia wine and tapas bar provided self-serve automated wine tastings from Chile and Argentina curated by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier. We wish that we got to stay longer to try all the restaurants. We ended up taking a taxi one night into the La Fortuna town to experience the life of the town and a local restaurant. There are many bars and restaurants, with many catered toward tourists and a few more local places. One day we went to Tabacon to check out the hot springs there. We absolutely loved the grounds at Tabacon, but highly recommend staying at Nayara instead, and getting a day pass to Tabacon if you want to experience the hot spring waterfalls. The service and experience at Nayara cannot be beat. Nayara also has hot springs access in their tented camp area and all Nayara grounds are accessible to guests at any one of the three resorts. It is all walkable, though be ready for steep hills as it is at the base of the volcano! The service was impeccable. From the golf cart rides through the grounds to towel and umbrella service, every need had been considered and taken care of before it arose. We enjoyed the daily housekeeping as well as the nightly turn down service. Each night the staff left a little surprise on the bed as well as fresh cool water at the bedside. It was fairly inexpensive to take a taxi here. Uber is cheaper but we were told that it is illegal currently in Costa Rica and so if you are pulled over by police, you will have to get out and call a taxi from where you are left. We took an Uber one time and the driver went off route through a neighborhood to avoid a police car. The hotel recommends using a taxi instead.

The entire grounds are immaculate, as are the rooms. However, the people and experience made this one of the most memorable experiences we've had. At check-in we were invited to a drink to be welcomed by the manager. Luis met us, welcomed us with a drink and explained the hotel, it's history, and guaranteed if anything didn't meet his high standards to let him know. His guarantee turned out to be true. We went on the hanging bridges walk with Isidro who was so wonderful and knowledgable the we asked for him, and driver Alex, again the next day for the volcano walk. It can't be said enough, Isidro was the best: incredible knowledge of the flora, fauna, and geography of the area, a phenomenal photographer, and just a wonderfully happy and energetic person to make everyone feel excited to be there. Wine master Jose at Nostalgia took great care of us several nights and made all feel welcome and walked beginners and experts equally through the wines available in detail with great demeanor. The wine bar has a unique selection we really enjoyed! We also really loved our sushi nights with William at Asia Luna - he was great and the fish was delicious. Lastly, the service staff deserve a complete shout-out. Our room was always spotless and taken great care of during our stay. Overall the staff at Nayara went above and beyond to assertively make our time there great. Thank you Team Nayara. Pura Vida - cant wait to go back.

Amazing property and service! I have forgotten what great service was until I came here. Turn down service, little touches, and amazing staff. They even did laundry for free. The room is all about romance, outside showers, inside his and hers showers, the best bed ever, a deck with a whirlpool tub, and complete privacy. We had fun! The property is large and beautiful but you feel like you're in the jungle, relaxed and secluded. Tons of restaurants, pools, spa, hot springs and everything is top-notch. We didn't see a lot of kids, a bonus for us since we wanted a more couple-oriented experience. My husband got a romantic dinner for my birthday and they also decorated the room with balloons and flowers, it was absolutely amazing.
