I would not recommend this hotel, please do yourself a favor, skip this one. When I arrived at the hotel, I was completely exhausted from traveling for over 10 hours. I was not in a good space on arrival and asked if we could go to our room and check in the next morning. The person refused to allow this and it set a poor feeling with the front desk staff. The next morning breakfast opens at 7am, the activity pick up is scheduled for 7:30am. We had to wait in line for eggs for 5-10 minutes which cut into the breakfast time. Since breakfast opens at 7 and not earlier, we did have time to enjoy breakfast. The front desk person was rude and nasty related to our scheduled activity time and being late. It was so difficult to relax on vacation. We were not told about not putting toilet paper in the toilet, the toilet backed up, trying to clean up, we missed the ride to the hanging bridges. We were charged for a taxi ride to join the tour late. It was a very stressful experience at this hotel. The room was bare with no place to put the luggage. The shower was weak and water did not stay hot during the shower, and the hotel staff were not helpful, in fact i felt judged by the staff working there. The funny thing is that i had stayed there before and liked it enough to return, but I will never again stay at Casa Luna.

Lovely location whilst on organised tour of area. Excellent buffet breakfast. Room itself very spacious, 2 double beds, etc. really just using as base for two nights. Didn't have opportunity to try swimming pool as put and about but did enjoy watching bird life. Marked down to 4 as slightly disappointed that on return from spa trip in La Fortuna quite early evening, we thought we could have had a drink at bar but didn't really prove to be practical. I guess it's because everyone going to bed very early! We did just sit on patio enjoying a glass of wine from bottle taken in case as contingency. 🤣

Stayed for three nights. Good balcony, view of the volcano, lovely pool and bar and well laid out gardens. Also only a few minutes from La Fortuna by Uber where there are a lot of good restaurant. Also close to the waterfall which is an hours walk away and well worth a visit and swim. Rooms however are very small, smell slightly damp and there is no room to unpack/ hang things. The staff are helpful and breakfast fine but the restaurant / bar is tired and uninspiring hence we eat out ( which was good each time)

Stayed here four nights while doing tours around La Fortuna. We had a balcony room with a fantastic view of the volcano. Grounds were gorgeous--every path was covered in trees and flowers and included several small ponds where we would find frogs at night. Had a great hiking trail that went down to a creek. Saw lots of different bird species from our balcony. Restaurant had great food and it was a very short drive over to La Fortuna to visit the shops or other restaurants. Room was always clean. Staff was excellent. Only negative is that the standard breakfast time in the restaurant (I think 7AM) was later than what we needed for some of the tours but they could provide a box meal to take along instead if you wanted.

We found this hotel a little basic compared to the other places we stayed in Costa Rica. The rooms were very simple and felt cold and damp, There was no where to unpack anything in the rooms. Pool area and hot tubs were really nice and the gardens beautifully maintained. We found the restaurant very depressing, it was dark and lacked atmosphere. The food wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great. After two nights eating there we got Ubers into La Fortuna (5 mins) where we had great meals and much better value. Also one day the staff would not serve lunch as they were ‘repricing the menu’ which was very unhelpful and strange! Staff were not that helpful, especially compared to everywhere else in Costa Rica where everyone has been so warm and welcoming.

The hotel is really well maintained with a good pool and several hot spring jacuzzi's. It's a little out of town but easy into La Fortuna via taxi and really tranquil. The food in the restaurant is good, we ate there twice. Good variety for breakfast. Staff were super helpful with tips and advice for the local area. A perfect spot for in between tours.

We had a great experience at Casa Luna. This was our second time here and I would not stay anywhere else. The location is quiet and outside of town, but only a $5.00 to $8.00 taxi ride into most restaurants. We loved the small, private hot tubs around the facility and the nature walk was amazing. The grounds are beautiful, and everything is clean and well groomed. The breakfast was delicious every morning and all staff friendly and helpful. We did have a mix up on our final bill, but Melvin responded quickly and assured us all would be handled. We did book a Junior Suite and I would recommend; it was a large room and had a very private patio. This really is a great hotel!!!!

I cannot understand the hood ratings. Our room had an awful smell (damp), had no bedside lights, the terrace is small with two chairs that you cannot use during rainfall because you’ll still get wet. Si during rain season you mostly ly on the beds for the lack of other options. Bathrooms don’t offer much space to store your toiletries. So the rooms are definitely overpriced. breakfast started quite late and service is slow, and that‘s a bad combination given that most guests head off for tours in the morning. When you come back at 3pm your room has not been cleaned up. Food in the restaurant is really good though. All in all, It‘s more pretense than real quality. Eould definitely not stay there again, even for free.
