I have been going to this hotel for approximately 12 years. This time was a terrible disappointment. Problems included: Lack of gardening - felt like a needed a machete to walk on my sidewalk to my room Nearly no hot water Hard, uncomfortable mattress and pillows Burned out light bulb and no cleaning out of insects from ceiling lights for years Hot spring pool closed but old jacuzzi open The place needs a rehab effort soon. I really enjoyed it for many years previously, but won’t be back. It has changed from a hidden gem to a facility that just needs to be hidden. It remains competitively priced and had good, but not great food (meals included).

Hi there, Your time is as valuable as your feedback for us, we truly appreciate the thorough description of your recent experience in our home, we will definitely make the best use of your comments. We’re so sorry there was a first time that did not represent a nice stay, please accept our sincere apologies. Far from using it as an excuse, we want to clarify that just like many other hotels in the world, Arenal Manoa is coming back from a 3-month shutdown and that sadly means running into different issues, nevertheless, our intention is nowhere near staying still, on the contrary, now more than ever we’re working hard to improve every aspect of what we offer. Proof of that are both the strict hygiene protocol our team has carefully designed, as well as the reason why the hot springs pool area is temporarily unavailable: It’s being completely renewed. We would love to have another chance in the near future to show you what are the results of our team’s effort, a team that, as you know, is full of nice people. Any of them will be more than glad to have you back in our place and show you our objective is actually becoming better than the hidden gem you found in the past. Please feel free to reach out at your convenience. Warm regards from La Fortuna, be safe out there!

It has a great view to Arenal Volcano, very clean and safe, has a good staff and the meals are very good. Also it has thermal waters. The protocols for Covid-19 are very safe, I have felt very safe in this place.

We stayed for 4 days during a 3 week trip, and this was the best hotel of our trip. The food was top notch; the breakfast was very special, with a custom egg chef and a lot of fresh fruit. Access to Fortuna was ez, getting a $10 taxi. Also, the happy hour for discount drinks was very nice

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arenal Manoa Hotel in La Fortuna! The rooms are modern, clean and quiet. We also had a perfect view of the Volcano. The grounds are beautiful with easy access to a shuttle (although we walked) and the restaurant food is delicious. They also have a pool and hot springs but we didn't have time on this visit to enjoy either. The one recommendation that I would suggest is that the hotel not use bleach. When we moved into our room the smell was over powering and we had to have them return to remove it which they gladly did. There are environmental products that can be used instead of bleach. A big shout out to Adrian at the front desk who made our trip so enjoyable! He organized our day trip to the Hanging Bridges, Fontana Waterfall, Arenal Hike and lunch. The Tour Operator he selected (I can't remember their names) were fantastic and knew they stuff. Sadly, due to the current situation with COV-19 we had to end our trip abruptly and return to Canada and Adrian kindly accommodated our need to cancel our remaining tours and with no penalty. If you are going to Arenal, definitely stay at this hotel and ask for "Adrian". He will make your trip enjoyable!

We enjoyed our stay and were privileged to be able to see the top of the volcano from our room the first day. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and a large variety. Our visit to the hot springs made the stay fabulous.
