It was nice to get away from typical tourist sites, and get "off the grid" a bit. Food was delicious and seemed more like "home cooked meals" versus restaurant food. Good variety and very prompt service. We opted to eat every dinner on site during our 7 night stay. Breakfasts were made fresh, and provided a hearty start to the... More

Our group of 11 stayed here for 3 nights, and it couldn't have been better. Steve and Debbie are wonderful hosts. The property is gorgeous. The kids loved swimming in the infinity pool, while the adults had cocktails at the bar just steps away. Rocky road up to property but worth the adventure. It was really cloudy when we visited,... This place was awesome. It allowed us to get away from it all and enjoy some adventures. Woke up with the wildlife each morning. Enjoyed the porch, outside shower and the views are beautiful. We did a package deal with all but one meal included, all transportation, horseback riding to the falls, zip line, guided tour at the volcano, white... More

Where to begin. If you are considering a stay here...just book it. I do a lot of traveling and this place ranks #1 for me. It was such an experience. To wake up to a pot of freshly ground coffee, views of the volcano, sounds of howler monkeys and hummingbirds whizzing by...what's better? I cannot think of a single thing... More

We visited here with our family of five. From milking the cow in the morning, beautiful horseback rides to waterfalls, personalized staff who make you feel part of their family, this place really made for wonderful memories! Each room has it's own, unique feel. Eating breakfast and dinner with other families made for great conversation and an opportunity to hear... More

I went to this wonderful resort with my two daughters ages 10 and 12. They were first time horseback riders and boy did they love this place. It is clean, quiet, and full of fun things to do for people of all ages. The food was really better than expected as well. This was the perfect place for kids who... More

Leaves and Lizards is located in one of the most spectacularly beautiful areas of Costa Rica. The grounds are lovely and lovingly maintained, the views of Arenal are incredible, there are birds and wildlife everywhere, and the food they serve is fresh and tasty. Mix in the availability of horseback rides, waterfalls, and a pool (scheduled to be completed by... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Volcano room at Leaves and Lizards for the first four nights of our 3 week adventure in Costa Rica. Waking up to a clear view of Arenal volcano in all its glory is truly spectacular. In addition to that view, the room itself was great, done in the style of a log cabin... More

We took our granddaughter and stayed for 5 nights. The owners were fantastic to work with and helped us schedule several fun excursions. We loved the horseback ride to the waterfall where we had a refreshing swim. We had a great bungalow that had a large glass window facing the volcano, which was a fabulous view to wake up to... My sister and I stayed here on the last leg of our 2 week sisters vacay. As 50 somethings we (ok I) felt the need to do some crazy things on this trip. We started with surfing, but I think riding a horse was more scary for me. These people are pros!!! Our horseback riding day began with Oscar helping... More
