This was probably our favourite hotel of 6 in Costa Rica because of the ambiance, space and opportunities. Had never stayed anywhere quite like this- beautiful villa which was spacious, clean and comfortable- 5 of us easily fitted in and the hotel’s hot springs and bar/restaurant are something really special
I have stayed at Silencio de Campo 5 times. over the last 10 years. On one of my trips we had a family reunion with 23 people. Staying at this hotel is always the highlight of our CR trip. We love the individual villas as the place feels like home not a hotel. The hot springs on the grounds are fantastic, so you never need to go pay for a hots springs elsewhere. It is always a very relaxing environment and the staff is always very informative and super friendly. This is where you must stay when you are in La Fortuna, especially if you are a birder. I would buy the place if I could, its that nice and well run. This is the best discovery we have made in CR. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!! Gary
We loved the setup for this quiet location with a local feel. The cabins were perfect for families. The little farm was popular with the children. You will love their selection. At the hotel restaurant. We had a few outings in the local area and the hotel staff helped us translate what we couldn’t express in Spanish. This was a great experience and would definitely recommend it for anyone planning to be in La Fortuna. Their local hot spring are to die for!
My family and I stayed here for 2 nights in July. We loved the free-standing “villas”, the easy access to the thermal pools, the small farm on the property and the restaurant on site. The staff were great as well. It’s a unique and comfortable place to stay in a touristy part of the country. We would have tried out the spa if there was more time!
Stayed here 2 nights in July with family. Staff was super friendly and greeted us with fresh fruit juice upon our arrival. Grounds are simply gorgeous. Location is convenient to activities. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. The view of the volcano from the patio was amazing. Hot spring pools were lovely and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing and hiking. Food at the pool bar was delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a hotel where they are very attentive to specific needs of the guests. My son and I had a wonderful stay. The onsite thermal pools were fantastic and well away from any crowds. I highly recommend a visit!
Silencio del Campo is a unique and special place. Part of its appeal is that it feels like a high end wilderness resort. Only 24 villas scattered across their large property. The property amounts to a well cared for beautiful botanical garden. It was great for the 7 kids in our party. Bella the pig wandering the grounds. Roberto the farmhand teaching them to hand milk the cow and collect the mornings 8 doz eggs from the free range chickens and giving them pony rides. Superb food and service
The staff here are so kind and the on site hot springs were perfect and uncrowded. All of the meals we had at the restaurant were delicious and Mae made great drinks at the bar. We did not rent a car, so Eliomar and the other concierges were so helpful with calling taxis and arranging transports. They had great suggestions for in-town restaurants and activities. From here we visited La Fortuna waterfall, Mistico hanging bridges, zip lined with Ecoglide (who accommodated my 4year old) and went to the butterfly conservatory. My son loved to visit the animals at the farm every morning and even got to ride a horse and collect eggs. This place was perfect and unpretentious. We will return!
This hotel was the best part of our trip. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 kids and we had the best time. The staff were so nice and accommodating. The entire site was clean and inviting. The thermal pools were awesome. They have a farm where the kids could milk cows or ride a horse and a lot of the food at the on-site restaurant comes right off the property’s farm. I highly recommend the hotel!
This place is amazing-- blends well with the environment. We looked at other options as we considered where to stay in La Fortuna, but we have NO regrets. The customer service (reception, pool, restaurant, housekeeping, maintenance, etc) were splendid! The food at the restaurant were consistently fabulous. The hot springs were perfect. We'd come back with no hesitation. Even our teens/young adults (15-21) all enjoyed it. Pura vida!
