It had been three years since we first went to Tree Houses, and when we returned, it was just as good as we had remembered. We stayed in the Perezosa tree house (I think that is the sloth, the one with the tree that goes through it) and had a great time. Now they bring coffee to the tree house... More

I had always wanted to stay in a tree house since I was a kid. When we decided to take a family vacation to Costa Rica, I was delighted when my wife found this place. The kids were as excited as I was. We stayed in one of the tree houses with the loft, and the kids really enjoyed the... More

We stayed here for two nights on in June. We were really looking forward to this experience, but have to say we were very disappointed. I agree that Mark and Lucy were great. But, the rustic outdoor experience was totally ruined for me by the seriously loud noise from semi trucks coming from the road. We stayed in the sloth... More

Thank you for your review. We wanted to respond to a few of the things that were brought up. We ask our guests daily if they need towels or fresh sheets for the tree house (it is also in the information book in each tree house). On the off chance something does not get done, we are always around to... More

Mark and Lucy were great, they helped a great deal. The grounds were fantastisc breakfast was yummy. The rooms were DIRTY. So dirty I would say discusting. The bathroom smelled like sewage when the shower was on. There were dead moths on the floor And dead bugs in the shower pan when we walked in and were never cleaned. The... More

We spent 4 days at the Tree Houses Hotel in May and had a lovely time. Mark,Lucy and the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were great and we especially appreciated the pre arranged breakfast for the day our adventures took us out early, early morning. The hotel is right off the highway and you can hear traffic... More

It's been on our life list to stay in a treehouse and we were not disappointed. The charming treehouses were comfortable and we loved the wrap around porches. There's a really neat hike to a waterfall and river (It's about 4 miles round trip so be ready) but I think it's worth it if you are in good shape. The... More

I hate to give a middling review for this facility, because the staff was so nice and helpful, but I want to give the full story: Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Picturesque grounds. Monkeys and sloths. Cons: Pictures are deceiving. This facility is right by a busy road. Some houses are better than others. Our house (Frog... More

Tree Houses wants all our customers to know that we appreciate their reviews and all feedback we receive on Tripadvisor. We listen to what people have to say and are always open to suggestions and criticism. Several reviewers have complained about the road noise of late and we agree it has been loud. What we have found out is there... More

What a superb choice staying at this "hotel".....more interesting than any hotel I've stayed at! We could only book one night at the Treehouses, but glad we could get at least that the owner, Raeanne was great and extremely helpful, Rolando was super fun to do the night hike with, the rest of the staff treated us like family.....it was... We stayed here with our 4yo daughter in Mid May for one night only as that was all that was available. It was quite an interesting experience, enveloping us in an almost childlike exuberance. How cool it was to climb the stairs to find a tree growing in the middle of the room. The wrap-around patio was also a bonus,... More

Awesome place to stay. While I was showering i could hear and see the monkeys swinging from the trees. The managers are helpful and super nice. They can give you info about the area and where to eat and what to do. Take the hike down to the river. Its worth it. Do the night tour at the tree houses.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
