This is a very good quality hotel. We had a very large room, extremely well equipped and furnished -- and included a Jacuzzi. Our room was facing the huge Arenal Volcano -- although cloud meant that we only ever saw its base. It's illegal to climb it, apparently, yet several people proudly showed us photos taken at the top. The breakfast buffet its excellent, with great variety and high quality. Dinner meals were very well-presented. Staff members in general all seemed very pleasant. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained. The naturally-heated pools are very enjoyable, and we also visited the hotel's thermal spa a few kilometres away. There is a gym, but when I called in everything was unplugged. While tipping is a big thing in Costa Rica (plus service charges), I didn't like being asked for a tip at my first breakfast ('with cash if you like'). The hotel is in a quite elevated spot. The weather was wet and cool during our stay, whereas just down the road at La Fortuna town it was warm and sunny. This is a nice hotel in which to spend a few days. …
I couldn't be happier at having chosen the arenal Kioro. The views are amazing! We have the volcano vista from our bed and jacuzzi. The staff is incredible and uber attentive. The food is phenomenal. Hats off to the chef as the flavors are melded quite well! It's also not bustling with people which makes the hot springs quote relaxing
Our room was spacious with jacuzzi .woke up every morning with the stunning view of the volcano.well manicured garden.great breakfast .friendly ,attentive staff..activities we did were outstanding. The hot springs were great and warm.
The views are unbelievably beautiful from every location on the property. The hot springs ere a wonderful place to relax before a day of adventure or while just taking in the spectacular abundance of natural beauty. The restaurant and bar offered everything you could want and more.
Our stay here was amazing. Our room had an incredible view of the volcano. We felt lucky to see many types of wildlife just around the premises. The food was great and the staff were all friendly and accommodating, they couldn’t do enough. The tours they organised for us were brilliant and the spa is the perfect way to wind down after a long day of hiking. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special. We hope to see you again.
This location is AMAZING! The food was some of the best I’ve ever had traveling. Kudos to all of the staff. 10/10 experience . This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and I’m already planing a return and this hotel will be one of my destinations
The location alone is fantastic at the resort as the views of the Arenal Volcano are incredible. The floor to ceiling windows only made the scenery that much more amazing as well as the hot tub located in the room. It is a smaller hotel and with that was quiet with wonderful ambience for relaxing and enjoying nature (for the most part our next door neighbors were a little loud one night-no fault of the hotel). The grounds were beautiful with so many plants and wildlife. Having access to hot springs on the property was fantastic especially after a long days hike. We did not make use of the shuttle to the Tabocon springs but that was offered as well. Not sure on others reviews of the food...but we had breakfast as well as the dinner package and found the meals to be delicious. Every single staff member was so so wonderful. From arranging transport to pleasant greetings. I cannot recommend this hotel enough to anyone looking to stay in La Fortuna. As a side note we hired a driver from San Jose to the resort which the hotel arranged for us. If you choose to do this ask for Enrique with Figa Travel. He was amazing not only as a driver but as a tour guide as well. He even stopped to show us a sloth on our ride to the hotel! This is our first time in Costa Rica and was an amazing start to our stay. …
Fantastic resort, fantastic staff, fantastic views. I can’t say enough about the helpful staff here. They are all so friendly and helpful. We were attempting to see frogs one night, lol, and the bartender helped but to no avail. He found one and RAN after us to bring us back to see it. This is one example of the exemplary service. The views are fantastic. We observed the volcano 3 mornings in a row in late October. Highly recommend.
Arenal Kioro provided us with a lovely spa stay for 2 nights. We were greeted with a complimentary drink upon arrival and a bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. The room was so big and lovely and had a hot tub inside it which was great. A highlight was the volcano views that the room gave. We also had dinner one night at the restaurant and opted for the Costa Rican BBQ which was lovely. There is parking available at the hotel.
This is a fabulous resort with amazing views of the spectacular Arenal Volcano from every room. It has lovely thermal pools and we even had our own sloth living in the tree outside our room! The gardens are stunning, the staff is warm, welcoming and helpful. Delicious breakfasts and we had cute little towel animals in our rooms. We were traveling with our family (9 of us ages 11-73) and we all enjoyed our stay here. They helped us set up our small ceremony in the gazebo with beautiful flowers, bouquet and champagne. I highly recommend and would love to go back!
