We had a pleasant 4 night stay here. The grounds are very lush and the view of the Arenal volcano is incredible. I liked staying outside of town where it’s more quiet, but it’s still a central location to get to many destinations.
I only have 2 complaints about this hotel. First, If you want to open a window to let in some fresh air (the rooms get musty) the only option is to open the door, which does not have a screen so bugs fly in. A simple screen door would be appreciated. Second, the breakfast buffet was constantly running out of items - coffee, bananas, cutlery, etc. They could do a better job of keeping it stocked.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were kept clean. The parking lot is small but we always found a spot to park. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here.

The hotel is in a beautiful location with a breathtaking view of the volcano. The rooms are beautiful, large with an external veranda and most with a view of the volcano. The garden is not large but beautiful and with an infinite wealth of plants. The two swimming pools are very pleasant. Friendly staff, good breakfast. The only flaw: the lighting of the rooms: there is only one central (cold) light which makes it difficult to read from the bed and which means that if one is sleeping and the other is reading there is no light for reading.

Actually it is the room that is old and not spotless. It starts to rain, of course it happens in Costa Rica, what should not happen is that it rains in your room, instead it really happened. Excellent, friendly hotelwith a prime view at the foot of the volcano surrounded by grass. One of the pools was under reonstrution so they put us in the better rooms at the bak whih are very comfortable and quiet. The grounds are planted with flowers and well lit. We had an excellent stay in Hotel Lavas Tacotal. Karen, on reception, was an excellent host from warm welcome up to check out. Karen helped us with reservations for other activities after half a day spent in the rainforest. We stayed in room 26 with a direct view of the volcano. Breakfast was superb quality, fresh and good variety. The extra mile was, when breakfast was ready at 6:45, what was an incredible gesture for all customers leaving early for activities starting 8am, which involves little travel. Highly recommended.

This quaint little hotel is perfect for exploring the La Fortuna area. We stayed two nights while exploring and doing tours. Kembly the manager is super friendly and has tons of information about what to do in the area. The hotel has two pools, very clean and amazing views of the Volcano. The cabins are clean, conformable and have beautiful views of the lush tropical gardens and the Arenal Volcano. It is situated 9km outside of La Fortuna but close by is a little supermarket to stock up on things and the rooms have a small fridge! Breakfasts are delicious and served with a fruit plate! We had great fun and really enjoyed the stay!

Very little lighting in the room. The room looks very dark, to be with family is very difficult. The internet despite being close to the reception is very very bad, the data packet of the cell phone is better. Me and my brother stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and i will definitely recommend this hotel. It felt so nice and relaxing, i didn’t catch the gentleman name at the front desk but he was the most helpful and friendliest person and truly was amazing.
I find the location of the hotel great, there’s walking distance food and activities close by and it’s also safe to walk.
We book the bungalow deluxe room and it was so spacious and well kept i loved it.
I will definitely come back to this hotel.
