We stayed here in one of the mountain bungalows for three nights. The grounds were beautiful. Great view of the volcano. Pool and hot tub well kept. Daily cleaning service with towel animals. The staff here did not go out of their way for you. I just didn’t get the welcoming feeling I thought I would. The hotel has a huge bar and restaurant. The bar was never open and the restaurant only for breakfast. It would have been nice to know this before booking. Luckily we rented a car and were able to drive down the street for meals. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The hotel has a huge souvenir shop attached to it with a nice selection. They also have an ATV tour that they offer. This was our favorite part about staying here. Donald was our guide. He took us on an amazing tour on the mountainside, through cattle fields and rivers. He even held our phone and took pics and videos of us riding. He was very genuine and caring. We stopped so he could show us a sloth in the wild. It was awesome. Then, after the tour we got dinner that was included. It was fantastic!…
What an amazing experience. This experience was a first time for me. My husband had ridden ATVs before and i was scared at first. Our instructor/tour guide walked me through the steps and taught me how to use the ATV. I can't wait to do it again. We drove through a farm, river, a crazy road that i may say was very interesting but awesome. We did a couple of pit stops and when we were all done the tour came with lunch. Best experience even for the amateurs. We will be back!
We arrived at this hotel after a long flight from the UK and a three hour drive. Our confirmation stated we would have a room with a garden view and wine or champagne in the room. We were shown to a dingy room overlooking a busy main road, which we refused. We were then offered a garden vow room, but told we could only have this for one night. The booking was made in October 2019 and we travelled the22nd February 2020. No wine or champagne, granted the room was better. Nice pool area. Breakfast average. They had obviously double booked. Not impressed as we then had to find another hotel the next day. Pretty disgusting to treat people like this.
We stayed here for three nights in one of the bungalows. Overall I'd say the hotel is pretty good. The best part about it was the view of the volcano from our porch - we liked sitting out there and taking in the sights. Breakfast was fine, not amazing, and mostly the same every day. The bungalow was a bit dark, and we got no wifi signal in our room (it worked on the porch). We had a couple room issues come up, but the staff responded to them immediately, which I appreciate.
We ran over from Playas del Coco to see volcano and waterfalls. Stopped in for directions and met a guy who spoke English and wound up staying for the night. Place has a huge gift shop, 2 hot tubs and a nice pool. Room was big but mattress was too firm for us. Breakfast was included and was very good. Service was great. Right on the main road into town. We drove to the “free” hot water river and enjoyed soaking there after paying to park. The next day back to soak, then the La Fortuna falls. Great quick overnight stay.
