We stayed here for two nights with friends. It is a delightful place to stay and a great alternative to the larger tourist hotels in the area. The room we stayed in was spotless as were the grounds outside. The family who owns Villas Vilma are friendly and make you feel welcome and appreciated.

Due to a mix up with dates at our booked accommodation we ended up staying at Villas Vilma completely unexpectedly. This wasn't too much of a chore however as the hotel is lovely. It's run by very helpful Costa Rican staff who speak English and also have the patience for my very bad Spanish (In itself a recommendation). The accommodation itself consists of small villas that all have terraces facing a lovely garden and, of course, Cerro Arenal. Each one is equipped with a small chair and hammock and the interiors are basic but comfortable with air conditioning, TV and en-suite. They also have a pool area out the back. The only criticisms I have are that the rooms are a tad dark and that the shower was a little bit tempramental, but at $60 a double it's good value and in a quieter part of La Fortuna, not the most inspiring town in Costa Rica!

Great spot for a group! Pool and hot tub is awesome! Views the best and location perfect to keep teenagers from running off to a bar. Red frog coffee roasters and cafe nearby. Laundry across street. AC in rooms. Great hammocks. Ask for a blanket at front desk if existing bedding isn't enough for you.

We stayed here 10 years ago when the volcano was active - could watch from our porch. We found the place again, pretty much the same except for the color on the buildings. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large and comfortable. We found the staff very nice and friendly. Everything in Costa Rica has gone up I price, with taxes on everything. We did not mind paying cash because it saved about 15% on extra fees. We recommend and would definitely go back.

My husband and I came here for 2 nights. The rooms were very clean, shower was nice and roomy! Extra shelving in the bathroom as well. There was a fridge and extra sink. The view of the volcano is right in front of your room. Spectacular. There's a lovely hammock which I took advantage of to read. The pool and hot tub were very clean. We spied an armadillo walking around the grounds! The location of the hotel is perfect although a car is recommended for convenience. It was my birthday while we stayed there and the staff had a beautiful bouquet of flowers waiting for me. The bed had decorations with "happy birthday " written in flowers. It was so lovely! Thank you so much!!

Estavamos em epoca baixa, Maio, e talvez por isso o quarto foi ao preço de 40 Dolares. O Hotel é muito agradavel , o quarto enorme com cantinho para fazer café e tudo. Até tem um pequeno alpendre que faz parte da entrada do quarto. jardim lindo, muito bem cuidado, piscina muito limpa e com vista direta para o vulcão...huau...voltaria com certeza.
Nao tem serviço de pequeno almoço o que é uma pena.

We stayed here last year at Christmas. By the time we booked, there was not much left in terms of choices in La Fortuna for that week. This was available, and we stayed in 2 rooms for 5 of us in our family (3 teenage boys who like to have their own beds). Very reasonable price for the time of year, and really no complaints about our stay. We were busy doing tours, etc. most of the time, so this was just a place to sleep and have breakfast (which my family all loved - a little slow, a little extra money, but very worth it). The grounds are beautiful. The pool is nice. Yes, the rooms are outdated, but for what we got at busy Christmas time, we were very happy to stay there. Also, very nice staff.

Estuve con mi familiar hospedado en este hotel y está demás decir que es un lugar precioso, las habitaciones cuentan con una vista excelente al volcán arenal, las áreas comunes de jardines y piscinas muy bien cuidados. Por otra parte está ubicado muy cerca del centro de la fortuna y lugares aledaños al volcán así que es fácil desplazarse a los lugares turísticos de la fortuna.

Hotel sympathique avec leur petite maison colorée ou vous trouverez tout le confort nécessaire. Cafetière, douche propre et literie correcte. La piscine et le jaccuzi avec vu sur le volcan sont clairement un plus. Aller dans le centre en taxi coute 1500 colones.

Fui con 4 amigas mas y nos alojamos en una casita. Son completas pero sin lujos.
Tienen Tele, heladera, baño privado y aire acondicionado.
Hay wifi en todo el lugar.
Tiene vista al volcan (aunque generalmente no se ve por la niebla)
No te dan toallas. Tiene una galeria con mesita y hamaca paraguaya con vista al jardin.
A la mañana hay cafe o te en recepcion.
Tienen Tele, heladera, baño privado y aire acondicionado.
Hay wifi en todo el lugar.
Tiene vista al volcan (aunque generalmente no se ve por la niebla)

Hi Yiannis, the airport is to 15 minutes front this hotel.
In this hotel NO hot springs, but within 5 minutes there are thermal springs nearby in several places. one is in tabacon and the other is BALDI
