Stayed here with my girlfriend for a few nights in one of their tents. It was a really fun experience and a great value compared to other hotels we've tried. The pool was awesome and the staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend it!

Stayed in the tents which are all located under a giant shed so they don't get rained on. The backpackers had a nice pool and is located fairly close to the main strip of town. Overall, the facilities are pretty clean as food was fine.

Very nice hostel! Even though it is super cheap, there is a really nice pool and a cute garden. Facilities are very good! Beds are very comfortable, slept extremely well! The guy at the reception (Adrian) was really helpful and available! Cool atmosphere with food and drinks serv

This place has a very nice setting and the look of the hotel is gorgeous. It's a very big place, so it's a bit impersonal, but the staff seems to do their best to make you feel welcome. nice, clean pool here as well which is crucial.

Rudest filthy liars and cheats I have ever met! AVOID!

Booked a double bed private with en-suite. When I arrived they said I had booked a shared bathroom even though all my confirmations and online app said en-suite. Manager came down and clicked around on the computer and then

Hi, staying here for New Years What’s the best way to get here from the airport? We land at 2pm in the afternoon. And how much? Also, what’s the best way to then travel on from here to our second destination in Monte Verde. How do we arrange? What type Taxi / shuttle bus / public bus and approximate prices? Many thanks in advance for any help

How much is their shuttle from SJO airport? What is the latest pickup time?
I heard the shuttle was $50, but stayed in San Jose two days and took bus to backpackers. The La Fortuna Station was 2.5 hours from San Jose 7-10 station (at the corner of 7th and 10th avenue), I think it was $14 dollars. Could have been less. Google terminal7-10 for the schedule. Arneal Backpackers is 100 meters west on the main road from the station.

I was quite disturbed to read all of the review which say the check in time is terrible! We are checking in on Saturday and really do not want to waste time in a long check in line. How can we avoid the wait? AND, why does a 5 star hotel have an unreasonably long check in time???? Also, I was disturbed to read about the noise from the night club. I am a very very light sleeper and any noise will keep me awake. What room numbers to you recommend that as very quiet? Is there a fridge in the room?
Hi, as Nigel said, is a nice hostel, not a complete hotel; the noise came from a curch on Saturday afternoon, as the answer above, ask for the building to the left of the property (so you can avoid the noise); my room did not had a fridge, they have fair prices on food and drinks on their restaurant, hope it helps!
