My husband and I opted for the Junior Suite with a private thermal bath and were blown away when we walked in the door The landscaping at this hotel is incredibly well-kept and designed. You're surrounded by exotic plants and flowers as you walk to your room, and when we opened the back door we were again enveloped in a beautiful garden with a cement path to your private stone thermal bath. (We would have had a perfect view of the Arenal Volcano if the fog/clouds would have lifted, but we were not so lucky.) Hummingbirds were frequent visitors and we could watch them right from the chairs on the back patio. They also provided sun loungers near the tub, which were perfect for enjoying the heat during the day and the stars at night. We were there as a couple, but this would be a great spot for a family. They had multiple public thermal bath pools, regular pools, walking paths, a playground, and workout areas including a yoga deck. The breakfast was buffet style and a traditional Costa Rican breakfast with some extra options. The coffee couldn't seem to come soon enough and both mornings we made it halfway through our meals before being served.…
Our first time in Costa Rica and absolutely loves Arenal and La Fortuna area. This hotel has their own hot spring pools!!!! And cleaned them twice in our two days stay! Perfectly secluded pools in the jungle. Great rooms in the beautiful garden with lots of room and seating with Arenal volcano view. Very good breakfast and front desk personnel very nice! Close to La Fortuna restaurants and right next to very nice Eco Natural Park and 20 min from Arenal Volcano National park.
My husband and I spent 3 nights at this resort and we absolutely loved it!! It's beautifully landscaped, very clean and has extra cleaning measures which we saw performed every day. We loved the amazing view of the volcano and the thermal hot springs with the swim up bar. The food at the restaurant is amazing!!! Chef Michael is the hidden gem of this place. I highly recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu, its delicious!
We spent 3 wonderful nights at Volcano Lodge and enjoyed our stay to the MAX! The property landscaping is meticulous and BEAUTIFUL! There is a trail around the property to walk, as well as, a wonderful garden to walk through next to the pool and restaurant area. There were many various plants and flowers that Minnesotans aren't accustomed to and it was fascinating! The various birds and plant-life captivated us every day on our walks around the property. Our room was very, very spacious and clean. The bathroom had plenty of hot water, which seems to be an issue in other properties. The restaurant was conveniently located and the food was AWESOME! The property offers a complimentary breakfast every morning and has plenty of options to fill the belly before a day of touring the area or relaxing in the thermal pools on property. Speaking of thermal pools, WOW, what an added plus! We relaxed every night in the thermal pools and we got some of the best sleep ever! Highly recommend this hotel for your stay near Arenal and La Fortuna!…
Went there for New Year's Dinner, they were nice enought to make reservations for me last minute. The food was nothing exciting, actually very bland. I got the typico plate, cassada and was very disappointed. The part that bugged me the most is that we were sitting conversing with a few people from the restaurant and they literally sent a security guard to escort me out, stating that the restaurant was closed. This left a negative feeling after paying so much for their bland food. Not going there or booking a room there as it cold and sterile.
