The property has so much to offer, dinning is in a beautiful restaurant open terrace, which has a lovely feel to it. The food is good, not excellent, a little bit expensive for the quality, clean and attentive staff. The hot springs are fabulous, clean and hot - also have several tubs in a jungle setting with a variety of temperatures from warm to hot. Loved this feature and well lit in the evening. did not try the food at the pool bar. Our room was immaculate, spacious with an excellent shower with very hot water! The grounds of this resort are outstanding and well maintained, there is an observation tower and hiking trail around a small lake, we enjoyed the 2 hr walk. The Butterfly Garden, Frog enclosure, Leaf Aunt area, Crocodile display and gardens all enjoyable, there was even a sloth lounging in the trees. We had an exceptional time on this properties ZIP Line, felt it was very good value for the price, and the boys that take you are a knowledgable and fun group, Go for the photographer for the extra $10 so worth it!! This property is a great place to stay, excellent for couples, families or groups, Highly recommend this hotel!

While on with a tour group in Costa Rica part of the tour was an afternoon visiting this resort and taking in the hot springs for a few hours. The resort has a nice changing room/restroom building on the property with secure lockers to store your personal items while relaxing at the springs. Then it is a short walk to the stairway that leads down to the hot springs area which has a multitude of hot tub and pool style hot springs. The largest at about 104 degrees is a 4’ deep pool with a swim up bar/grill with stools in the water and bar service while you soak. There is another hot springs pool with a couple of jetted loungers and waterfalls. Then several more private enclave soaking areas as well throughout and all are varied in temperature levels from tepid to hot. All of the areas were fairly well maintained with only some of the smaller spas having some leaf debri in them. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The tropical landscape was very nice and the old mill wheel was a nice accent. Also on the property is a large gift shop with a very nice selection of gift items, snacks, clothes etc. to easily find something you cannot do without.

To fully enjoy this area and Los Lago it is recommended to have a car. There is a shuttle at Los Lago but we found it very convenient to drive ourselves down to reception, the dining area and the pools. We spent al little more and enjoyed a volcano view, clouded a few days, as well as a spacious room and a balcony in the rear with a spectacular view of the valley. The breakfast is varied and a little Spanish goes a long way with the folks who work the grill. We got a big smile and perfectly prepared omelettes and eggs every day! The pool areas are very clean and different temps so you can enjoy your soak. This hotel offers so many more amenities than others in the area.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our view of the volcano was incredible in unit 241. Wow! It was far from the common areas such as the pool and breakfast so we had to drive or take the shuttle, which was fine. We loved the pool area!! Our teenage kids even loved it. All different temperatures of water and the swim up bar was great! Kids loved the slides. The breakfast buffet that was included was wonderful. It was an overall great experience! We would definitely come back and recommend to stay here!

It is a really nice place. Lovely room and amazing view of the volcano. We were in a room on the edge and too steep to walk and we are pretty fit, so walked down but got regular shuttle up. The various pools are superb and a nice bar pool. Drinks are pretty expensive as lots of Americans here and prices even in dollars. The food at the bar is pretty good, had a really nice pizza and amazing talapia, maybe best we've ever had! $8 for a cab for the 6km to town. Breakfasts are good. The one bug bear is the rules about not allowing any of your own food or drink in your room, just so you have to pay for their expensive stuff. That's just crazy!
