My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in mid-January and were very pleased with the resort. Breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant was excellent. I'm vegetarian (hubby is not) and thought my dinner choices might be a bit limited. However, they were very accommodating and made up some dishes for me with my favorite veggies that were not...

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing time. This was the first stop on our ten day Costa Rica vacation. Should have left it for the end because after Tabacon, we were spoiled. The hot springs were so incredibly therapeutic - we never wanted to get out. The rooms are nice and the beds...

My partner and I recently stayed at the Tabacon Grand Spa Resort for three nights. Our room was extremely comfortable and quite large. The public areas were beautiful and the staff, for the most part, excellent. Juan in valet services was particularly outstanding. One disappointment was that the clerk who checked us in failed to follow up on a request...

Hot Springs very relaxing and very romantic. Great get away for couples. Recommend the Tabacon spa treatment. We did a zip lining tour, walking bridges...

Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience. The access to the hot springs makes the hotel. Our room was fine, with noted exceptions as follows. First, our room had very poor sound insulation from the rooms on either side. We could easily here conversations on either side of our room. The persons on either side of us were not "late...

We spent the day at Tabacon today and really enjoyed the experience. After a day yesterday zip lining and very long walk we were ready for a relaxing day and the beautiful setting and hot springs were just right. We spent the morning trying all out and had very nice late lunch in restaurant, then after chill out in Shangri...

We stayed one night too long at Tabacon. I would recommend staying there for one night to be able to enjoy the Hot Springs and the Spa. If you are looking for a great Spa experience then Tabacon would be the perfect place for you. The food was good but overpriced. However, the service in and around the hotel was...

My wife and I had a great time at Tabacon. The hot and cold natural springs were amazing and the night time view of the lava from Arenal Volcano was unbelievable. The spa treatments and massages were top notch and very relaxing. Food was good too.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Hello! My boyfriend and I are traveling to Tabacon in a few weeks! We are a couple in our late twenty's/early thirty's and this will be our first big trip together out of the country... I've tried to do a lot of research but I still have a few questions! Please help and be specific if you can! :)

We booked a private van to the hotel from the airport - but what about once we're there? I've seen a few posts about $1-$2 taxi rides about 10 minutes away into the town of La Fortuna, but I've also seen some people say it cost them $20 to get to La Fortuna.

1. How much should we expect to pay for a taxi from Tabacon into the town of La Fortuna? (or other nearby areas with restaurants)

2. How did you book these quick taxi rides?

When I travel, I am the adventurous type - I love to experience the culture of the area. I am terrified of heights but am still open to zip lining, hiking, etc. I also want to see as many animals and creatures as possible, and I love to photograph! On the other hand, my boyfriend is not as adventurous and would love to experience the culture but in a more relaxed way.

3. What are the best adventurous excursions/tours that you've been on, and how do you book them?

4. What are the most beautiful & relaxing tours that you've been on, and how do you book them?

5. Has anyone been to Extremo Ziplining? I've heard it's the best.

I've read numerous posts about how the food at the Tabacon isn't worth the money... which is fine because I would rather experience the culture anyways.

6. Where have you traveled for food and beverages that you would recommend us to go - and how did you get there?

Lastly, we only have 5 days here and our first and last day are wasted, due to the amount of travel time. (So really only 3 days)

7. What are the top things you recommend for us to do here, besides the springs?

Thanks in advance!!
