I am a solo female traveler, booked a room at the place for three nights in August After check in with Peter I have realized I am the only occupant of the house. First night was uncomfortable and hot, no solid door but gate leading to the house, lets all kind of crawling and flying insects in, I was woken... More

We are a family of four and spent 3 nights in La Fortuna and the Arenal region. Staying at the Sleeping Indian felt almost like home. Heidi was very gracious, helpful and provided us with plenty of valuable information. She always took the time for a chat or to give us some advice. We appreciated the easy-going atmosphere and being... More

Clean, well-attended, basic accommodations with people who truly know the heart of Costa Rica. we loved the help from the hostesses about taxis at the busiest time of year, as well as good suggestions for great inexpensive authentic Costa Rican food. We felt so at home right away in La Fortuna because our home was so central and part of... More

Peter and his guesthouse were exactly what I was looking for in La Fortuna. I had a short last minute 3 night stopover in Costa Rica on route to a work site in South America. As such, I didn't have much time to research or plan my visit. Peter helped arrange a shuttle to and from the airport, provided plenty... More

We stayed here for three nights and while the location is great and the common area is lovely I wish that more attention was paid to the details. The room was very stuffy and smelled musty unless you left the window open and fan(s) on, but when the window is open you are right above a busy street and there... More

so sorry that you had this experience I guess that you didn't figure out that the windows open - that would have taken care of the stuffiness that you talk about But what is confusing is that you booked an extra night beyond your reservation and said nothing about any issues after being in the house 2 nights! If there... More

My husband and I were looking for a comfortable and economical place to stay while we visited the Arenal area to begin our adventures in Costa Rica. We planned to stay for 3 nights but left after one. The window could not be closed and it felt like sleeping on the sidewalk of a very busy street. Aditionally there was a very foul sewage smell in the bathroom. We wanted to change the room and had a hard time reaching anybody because this hotel staff starts working... More

Unfortunatly we can not satisfy all the people all the time. These people arrived in a terrible state of mind - they were hostile and thought they were booking a private villa and it is obvious from our listing that we are a guesthouse with a large common area. We attempted to offer them an alternative room and they became... More
