Mgmt is great. Friendly and helpful: where to eat late at night; on-time cabbie to the airport; where to buy odd items cheap. Seriously friendly and helpful. The place is modest but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is better than any similar place. Well located to the town square and airport. Very good value. No-brainer for us coming in and out of town.
It is very well situated for staying near the airport. The breakfast was excellent. Overall no great issue. The floors appear to be quite worn and maybe a little dirty. Bathroom/shower floor could use some bleach. I'm not a very picky person so this may mean a good bit.
I had high hopes, but it appears the new management hasn’t kept me he place up to its previous standards. The rooms do not look like the pictures on TA or the website. Instead of cheerful, cute rooms, my room was dingy and sad. A woman staying upstairs said the same thing. The WiFi didn’t work well, and the 7 am breakfast wasn’t out yet when I left at 7:15. The manager was nice on the phone and arranged a car for me, and the front desk guy was nice, which was great, but the hotel itself really disappointed.
We were happy with our choice to stay at Vida Tropical. Mario was very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The area was a great location from the airport and is close to restaurants and shops while still feeling safe. I found the mattresses quite comfortable and we both had a great sleep. I would stay here again!
I stayed here with the previous owners (Isabel & Randy) who deserved the great reviews. But the place unfortunately has changed with the new owner. The pictures on TA do not depict the current place. No hammocks, uncomfortable beds/linens. Staff was one of the most aloof and unfriendly I've ever had in this country. Was not given fresh towels, room/bathroom not cleaned during stay, trash not emptied. Lights are not turned on at night. Breakfast not good.
