The fact that it´s only 20 mins away from the airport & city but you feel like you´re in the middle of nowhere is amazing. The facilities are excellent, the villas are very well kept, very spacious and I love the balconies in the rooms. You have an amazing view to the central valley without the city buzz. Trails and...

only 20 mins. from airport but is a quiet haven, very good and friendly staff, rooms large and clean with all the facilities. If you have traveled a long way to get to Costa Rica it's the place to rest and get a feel of what you will see in Costa Rica with gardens, orchards and jungle areas to explore....

Loved my room which overlooked the valley and San Jose at night was lovely to look at. The food was scrumptious and the cocktails were superb. Walked around the gardens and the trees and flowers were beautiful. I am a bird watcher and I really enjoyed seeing all the different species. Stayed there two nights on my inward journey and...

Over the resort is worth a stay if you have time and don't mind being out of the way. Pros: Food and service, pool, grounds Cons: Lots of creatures in your room and you are basically stuck there. The resort is on nicely manicured grounds with trails and a waterfall, amazing. It has several pools and is not overly big...

My husband, 19 year old son and I spent one idyllic day and night at Xandari before flying home in late December. There are so many tempting lodging options to choose from when flying in and out of San Jose and we are so grateful that we sampled this fantastic haven. If we were to return we would go back...

We are world travelers, spending about 6 weeks/year in resorts all over the world. We study the area and read reviews before we decide on our accommodations. We are here now, after spending 10 days in Cahuita and Tortuguero. There is a thunderstorm. We are warm, cozy and comfortable in our little haven watching the birds and butterflies visit our...

The final stay on our honeymoon tour of Costa Rica was Xandari resort, recommended by several travel agents (but booked privately) as a great addition to our trip which also made the transfer to our long flight the following day much easier (this comment however definitely sells this hotel short). Xandari was a beautiful, quiet and relaxing resort that is...

We stayed only one night before flying home but I would love to have stayed longer. San Jose airport is only 20 minutes away by taxi and the lights of San Jose can be seen from the hotel restaurant but it felt like a complete oasis from what is an unattractive city. There are 3 swimming pools (each of a...

We Wished we could have stayed here longer - but as our first stop in Costa Rica it could not have been better - it really started our trip perfectly! To start with we got there early and they were just finishing getting our Villa ready 3 hours ahead of schedule! - so we sat in the bar area and...
