I stayed at Hotel Casa Tago in January 2015 and I have to say it was the best service I've had In Costa Rica. The hotel is cheap authentic and very well located (Downtown Alajuela; 6mn from the airport). It is very clean and the breakfast is good. The service is amazing, Umberto and Constanza make you feel like if... More

We spent 2 nights at Casa Tago, one on the arrival and one on our departure from Costa Rica and we are more than satisfied with the service: they picked us at the airport in the middle of the night after our flight have been delayed 2 times, the breakfast is great and served with attention and smiles, they gave... This is a really small hotel, room are nice but the one in the hallway could use a bit more privacy( a bit noisy) the included breakfast was good, we also really appreciate the location about 5-10 min cab ride from the airport, staff is also really friendly. Overall it is a good value for your money but mostly to... More

We stayed here one night upon arriving in Costa Rica as part of a Montezuma Expeditions Package. Our room was at back of hotel where it was quiet. Everything in the room worked: hot water in shower, AC, TV. Typical Tico breakfast. Friendly staff, close to banks, a park, and shops. We felt secure, and there were no problems. The... More

Carlos and his team are very welcoming. Make you feel at home, help you with all your questions and give very good advise. If you like a talk at breakfast, you'll feel right at home. Included breakfast was the tica way and very nice. Rooms were very clean. Safe available on request was really handy. Only 5min to the airport.... More

We stayed at Casa Tago for our very 1st night in Costa Rica. It is nicely located close to the airport and cost very little. We found the place very sad: agressive light, no windows (just one on the corridor), noisy. Impossible to close the door of the bathroom so when you need to us the toilets, it is not... More

We were welcomed at the airport with our name card and a friendly driver, Gracias Martial!. Umberto very nice, friendly a great sense of humor. The rooms are basic. Like all of Costa Rica, a hot water shower is rare, but no problem for me. There is a common refridgerator, and the breakfast is great ! Full service with a... More

This place is absolutely perfect if you're coming from or going to the airport. It's very close to the airport, as others have mentioned, and is in a nice neighborhood where there are lots of reasonable restaurants (and gas stations, if you have to return a rental car). The management was very nice and accommodating. The only negative is that... More

It was a recommendation of a (European) hotel owner in Costa Rica who stays at the Casa Tago herself when having a flight (back home). After my previous bad experience in Alajuela I was very satisfied with the place. Good value for your money. And a short and inexpensive taxi ride from the airport. I strongly recommend the hotel for... More
