I flew into SJO late and someone was waiting for me for free transportation from the airport. Roberto was very welcoming and knowledgeable and the place was very comfortable and clean. I enjoy how airy it is and the numerous terraces available. Will stay again!

After reading other reviews I’m surprised at the negative comments. We just stayed here and it was totally fine. 2 couples, each had private room and bath. My first time at a hostel but not my companions. All enjoyed it. Great rate, great view w cheap beer and pizza on rooftop, clean room, bare bones as expected but fine. They provided towels and small soap. Several scheduled shuttles and happily added an earlier one 5am for us. Michael at front desk was friendly and helpful. For a night near SJO I’d totally stay again.

Horrible service. They lie about their air conditioning. They have a dark lobby, with bathrooms that had vomit all over them, they made my backpacking group wait in the sketchy park outside where we got harassed by homeless people and locals for an hour. The worker wanted us to all pay $7 American to wait in the lobby that we already paid to be there.... horrible stay. Would not recommend. Sketchy location. Terrible service. Very dirty.

My interaction with the counter help at this hostel at night was horrible. I am senior citizen simply asking a few questions. This guy's attitude was so horrible I felt like I owed him this review. No great details just this. And 30 years of travel I had never been treated so rudely. The place is filthy and is not in a safe neighborhood. Best of luck if you need a place close to the airport there are other options. In my opinion the glass is always half full. Just had to tell the truth.

Only here 1 night due to an evening flight and no available buses to final destination until morning. No shuttle service even though I confirmed multiple times and tried calling. The room was dirty. A top sheet was folded on the bed, but both the top sheet and fitted sheet were stained all over. The bathrooms were gross, old, falling apart. One of the common bathrooms on the second floor had ants all over. At least one of the outlets in the room didn’t work. Drunk person pounding on door at night insisting their key didn't work and we were in their room. Couldn’t wait to leave. Would NOT recommend staying here.
