They charged us more for the room than we reserved it for on trip advisor a month before. (Yes, we reserved in advance, including all fees and taxes, and charged no additional purchases to the room. They just increased the price of the room because they wanted to.) I thought the bedroom was clean, but the hair dryer was completely coated and sticky with old hair products, and the bathroom floor was dirty. The maids were loud and rude (starting early in the AM), and even banged on our door more than once, with the do not disturb sign on the door. The first time, one of us was on the room phone so we didn't answer right away, and the maid said "I *know* they heard me knocking" really rudely before slamming the door. The second time she knocked, we were dressing to leave. I asked another man on the elevator about them, and he said they didn't wake him, so I have no idea why they were so rude to us. The pool looked lovely, but they had a sign up saying it was "closed for maintenance," which (after the rest of our stay), I believe may have as much truth as the ice cream machine being broken at McDonald's. I thought the campus was beautiful, but the hotel is really just an upgraded dorm (really, check out the sinks!), and the staff was unfriendly and pretty shady to overcharge us. The only reason I left three stars is that the food was really amazing for hotel dining, the bedroom was clean enough, and the campus was pretty. Overall disappointing as this was a special trip for us and we chose this hotel for the great reviews.

Stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary & it was perfect! We did the tradition where you eat your wedding cake & the bartender was sweet enough to take pictures of us! The room was super nice & the bed was comfy! Breakfast buffet was yummy too! Perfect location in Tuscaloosa!

I’m so thankful that we decided to stay here. The campus is just beautiful. We were just passing through Tuscaloosa and decided to take a chance after seeing other reviews and we are so glad we did. This hotel is nice! My only complaint is the room thermostat was antiqued and hard to read. It cooled fine but was hard to see the numbers. The hotel is clean and very classy. The outdoor pool area is nice and has so many gorgeous oak trees on the property. It is located across from the baseball stadium and next door to the Paul Bryant museum. We would stay here again!

The hotel and rooms are beautiful and, more importantly, clean. The restaurant had delicious food and reasonable drink prices. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Located within walking distance of many campus attractions.
