Pursell Farms is frequently lauded for its blend of beautifully renovated rooms with period decor and luxurious beds, creating an atmosphere that guests find both elegant and comfortable. The hotel's diverse amenities, including outdoor activities and a sumptuous spa, receive high marks for quality. Exceptional cleanliness is a hallmark here, with the well-kept grounds often highlighted in reviews.

Beautiful new Inn. Check-in personnel were gracious and kind, always friendly when we walked through the lobby. Rooms were beautiful and top quality. Decor was warm and comfortable yet very classy. Loved the historic photos throughout the hotel. Nice to have a fire pit in addition to a pool and loungers. Pub restaurant was very good with gracious service. Most relaxing place to stay!
We would definitely stay here again. Negatives are the lack of much to do in the area offsite, wish there was a hot tub, and some inefficiencies in housekeeping. Perhaps they weren't offering any housekeeping services (wasn't mentioned at check-in) but when we spend that much on a room, we like to be able to at least get fresh towels. We left the room for 8 hours and when we returned, housekeepers were still slowly working through cleaning rooms that were vacated that day but unlikely to be filled that night instead of servicing those of us staying multiple nights. Very nice workers, but not in any rush.

lWe recently held a corporate event and stayed in Parker Lodge. The event staff was very accommodating with some of our request during the planning of the event and were willing to make anything happen for us. We utilized a large conference room in the administration building that was prepped with A/V technology, coffee/drinks, and each place setting was prepped with note taking materials when we arrived. We settled into the Lodge after our morning meetings. The Lodge is unbelievably comfortable and appropriate for our type event where our business group was staying under the same roof. Each guest had a secure private room. From the design of the Lodge down to the huntsman décor, it was thoughtfully arranged for a group like ours or even a family gathering.
We requested a wine and whiskey tasting (Something that was not on the activities list) and the head of restaurant and hospitality accommodated our request. He took over an hour to educate us on each wine and whiskey. We followed with dinner in the Pub that was superb. They have new chef that really impressed.
The next morning, breakfast was brought in to the Lodge and ready when everyone woke up. A member of the Pursell family took the time to pop in and give us the story of the farm and family. They have an incredible mission and purpose behind the property.
We concluded our stay by having more business meetings fireside in the lodge. Boxed lunches were brought to the lodge for our departure.
This was our second year to take our team to Pursell and it certainly wont be the last.

Hello PTNTravel, What an honor it was to host your team's corporate event for a second year, and as you mentioned, we certainly hope it won't be the last! We're so glad to hear your group enjoyed the accommodations in Parker Lodge! The Lodge is always one of our most requested accommodations. One area we feel our team does extremely well is saying "yes" to requests, even if it's not something we typically do. If we have the resources to make it happen, our team always gets it done and we're so delighted to hear our Food and Beverage Director, Cameron, was able to host a wine and whiskey tasting for your group. He's knowledge of wine and spirits is astounding and we're happy he was able to help educate you. As you mentioned, our new Executive Chef, Tommy, brings an impressive culinary portfolio and he has left nothing but great impressions for our guests with his new Arrington menu and soon-to-be new Pub menu. You'll have to come back and the new items at Old Tom's Pub. Again, we hope to welcome you back to Pursell Farms for another corporate event and thank you for taking the time to leave us this wonderful review!

Pursell Farms is magical! We came up for the long weekend and have enjoyed every minute. The grounds are gorgeous. The accommodations (we stayed in the Inn) are stylish and luxurious, but comfortable and homey at the same time. The staff are the epitome of southern hospitality. The food is very good with lots of options from casual to fine dining. We enjoyed the Pub and Pro
Shop fare most days, but the fine dining restaurant was great. You can bring your own wine for a uncorking fee.
We chose a UTV tour, the spa, and golf for our activities. The UTV tour was so much fun! Darian was a fantastic guide and we loved driving through the woods, hills, mountains and mud to explore the property. The golf course is beautiful and has some unique holes that our guys found challenging and fun. The spa was charming and our massages were wonderful. We also explored the property on the 3 miles of walking trails. There are also bikes available, but it was a little cold and windy for them during our stay. Many of the cottages come with golf carts and there are also shuttles to run you to golf or the spa.
We loved the outdoor fire pit in the late afternoon and evenings. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a cocktail or a snack from the pub.
The Inn has balcony options (which we opted for) and we enjoyed our coffee and the sunrise every morning. It was so peaceful to watch the world wake up and hear the birds and the cows greet the day.
Sylacauga and Childersburg are right around the corner from the property if you want to run to town for snacks or to check out the local BBQ joints. There is also a famous marble quarry that’s a cool little stop off. Big Daddy’s Cafe (gas station) is a great place for a burger (no lie).
Pursell Farms is a great place for a couples or family getaway. We are planning to return for a Thanksgiving stay in a cottage or cabin with our teen/college kids in a year or two!
This wasn't an inexpensive trip, but we feel like we got our money’s worth. If you wanted to enjoy the Farms for less, they offer great midweek specials and even just coming for a night would be an affordable taste of what they offer.
Highly recommend and we will be back!

danhC7911UG, That was a thoughtful and very kind review! Thank you for taking time to write so much about your stay. You are right about the mornings out here at the farm, indeed there is something special about a quiet morning at sunrise with the far-off sounds of cows and country sounds in the air. This is the perfect time for open-air and wide open spaces! We agree, the farm is a special place and we hope that you will plan to visit often!

If you are considering Pursell Farms for a wedding venue, please pick up the phone right now, without hesitation, and call to reserve your weekend! I have never written a review before but always appreciate reading them. Hopefully, this review of Pursell Farms will be helpful to anyone looking for the perfect place for their wedding celebration.
A year ago we began searching for a wedding venue for my daughter’s wedding which was on 2/22/20. Her wish was that we could find a place where the guests could relax and enjoy themselves before the actual wedding. She wanted to focus more on the guests’ overall experience since everyone would have to travel (some by plane) to get to Sylacauga.
She and her fiancé wanted activities that their guests could take part in on the morning of the wedding. And they both liked the idea of a venue where everyone could stay on the property if they wanted and where we could hold the rehearsal dinner and ceremony in one place. Since their pictures and video were important, a beautiful space with outdoor views were crucial too.
By the time we drove past the guard gate at Pursell Farms, the Long horn cattle grazing in the rolling pastures, and winded our way up the hill to the Inn At Pursell Farms we were hooked!! We all agreed we had found the perfect place for their wedding!
Whitney, the wedding manager along with Leah, the rooms coordinator, handled everything from reserving guest rooms in the Inn, cabins, and cottages to planning the rehearsal dinner, ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour, to the reception celebration.
Guests enjoyed the Orvis shooting facility, horseback riding, bike riding, and hiking before the wedding.
Our eldest guest who was 91 years young said “I never knew a place like this even existed.” Neither did we until that first visit over a year ago. But no one who attended the wedding will ever forget Pursell Farms because it is unforgettable!

Well we just can’t stay away. We are fortunate enough to have family in Birmingham so staying at Pursell Farms is just an extra bonus when we visit. We visited this time during Covid 19 and the Farm was operating at half staff or less. The Inn was open and as usual we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome. We have a favorite room that we are automatically placed in so that makes things even more comfortable. We dined outside of Old Tom’s Pub for lunch and it was excellent. The new chef Tommy Hines is doing a great job. The food has always been excellent at The Farm (as it is affectionately known)
We had breakfast in Old Tom’s again inside this time with social distancing in place.
If you love Golf and nice Spa and fine dining away from it all you should visit Pursell Farms as soon as you can. The secret is out it’s a gem.

Meals were good, the only problem at dinner time it was extremely noisy in dining area. Bar and TV room needs to be separate from evening dining, drunk and loud golfers in bar area with people trying to have dinner. Especially if you wear hearing aids!
At breakfast where tables are set for coffee and such, no spoons on table. Once I got up and got my own spoon.
Really enjoyed my ATV ride with Chris. Willie and guys out front were very cordial and friendly!!! Ladies at front desk were very nice and cordial!
Grounds and farm are beautiful! I like the outdoors and farm. I am a retired forester and love the outdoors!! Hunter and fisherman.
The Orvis place is great but I wish ya had a pistol range and maybe rifle range. Not much of a wing shooter, turkey and deer hunter and pistol shooter.

We celebrated my Husband’s 40th birthday there at Old Tom’s Pub with 14 of our amazing friends and we could not ask for a better place! The staff was so nice and the atmosphere was perfect! They even brought out a beautiful dessert tray with wonderful desserts on it and had Happy Birthday written out on the tray. That was so sweet of them! All of our friends couldn’t wait to come back and we were asking to see who had the next birthday so we could make this a tradition. You’ve got to visit if you haven’t! Brittany was our server and she was wonderful with our large group!

Our golf weekend away was wonderful. The staff and service at Pursell Farms were top-notch. Consistent inquiries into how your stay was going, if anything was needed, and providing assistance for any need was quite inviting. The spa was excellent. Nicole was an excellent and attentive masseuse, and the shuttle service around the grounds was quick and a good way to learn more about the history of the farm. The atmosphere was light and comfortable whether on the golf course or the pub. The food was good but not exceptional. The chefs and staff were willing to accommodate any dietary needs; however, and this made some of the less desirable characteristics much more tolerable.

Beautiful course and very friendly staff. My Dad and I throughly enjoyed the day. Must especially thank Cheyenne for going above and beyond. Thanks again to everyone on staff and can't wait to return.

They do, however we did not use this service on our trip. If I had to guess, I would say the spa is nothing short of fantastic based on our stay, the accommodations, menu selection, friendliness of staff...everything was truly over the top.
Unfortunately we are not set up to deliver room service at this time.
