The front desk english are very limited!

The Room is a bit dated but okay, but the one that makes me uncomfortable is they doing a repair during 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm without informing the guest beforehand!

The sound of the machine is very loud, basically you will not have any zen/peace while living here

I stayed here for two weeks with a school group. There are a lot of students groups. The facilities are somewhat dated, but fairly functional. The lobby cafe has wifi and is very comfortable, and there is convenience store. English speakers at the front desk were very limited.

The location is across the street from Shanghai Normal University, and near the south train station. Otherwise it is not very convenient to the usual tourist sites. It is a practical choice if you have business in the area.

“The hotel is being incrementally renovated. Presumably the refurbished rooms would be better.”
