We took a taxi from the cruise dock (not the usual Intel cruise terminal) cost about CNY100.(about US$15) to the hotel because of the luggage, otherwise one can take the subway. You are next to all the Major Hotel chain on Nanjiang Road,,,walking street. Took a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus to tour the city( 2 days for US$10)/person or $5 for 1...

The lobby is located on the 7th floor and that is already an inconvenience to us. There were no concierge at the 1st floor and no sign of any ramps to drag the luggage up. So my family and i had to carry 6 luggage up and take the lift to the lobby. We reached at around 1230 which is...

If it wasn’t centrally located, we would not have liked this place as it is very far from being heaven. The rooms are decently sized but it is in dire need of a remodel. I don’t think they care as they know they have prime real estate and people will stay there just for that reason. It wasn’t horrible so...

The hotel is located on the Nanjing Rd Pedestrian Walk, very good location. Breakfast is the same everyday. Room was nice, enough to fit three beds. Near two busy station, East Nanjing Rd and People Square.

Hotel location was good (right at the Nanjing East Pedestrian Walk where there are plenty of shops and restaurants) but unfortunately, taxi drivers seem to have difficulty finding the hotel, probably because the hotel sign (small and not lit up at night) was a bit overwhelmed by the huge advertisement of the chain clothing store downstairs We had to haul...

The location is excellent, but the room is far too small and lacks a wardrobe. There wasn't even enough room to open our luggage, much less have friends over. The bathroom is sized for one; there is only enough room for one person to use it at once, which is unfortunate because it has the only mirror in the suite....

The location is very good! Very easy to take a sightseeing bus, to go to the Bund etc. The room was very small and quite dirty. And smells like sigarettes (as it's allowed to smoke in the room). Very old building. Definitely needs a renovation! Helpful and quite friendly staff. They speak English there. The breakfast was included in the...

The Good: The best part about the hotel is its LOCATION. Its bang on East Nanjing road which i think is a must visit place in Shanghai. The road is basically a long walking street where cars are not allowed with shops all around and really a merry experience. Also while walking ahead you reach BUND ( 15 mins walk max)...

An old hotel, but rooms and beds clean and decent and value for money for it's good location. It also had a high published rate but actually walk in rate is much cheaper. Interested guests should maybe call in or email hotel directly before booking. Conveniently located at the walking street and near mrt station. Would highly recommend.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
