The room is big but lack of lighting.. The shower is not working properly. The hot water keep gushing out no matter how I adjust the tap. The bed is quite comfy and there is extra blanket for winter.. There is also a water dispenser... Location is fantastic. Within walking distance to mrt. Breakfast is very simple. Nothing really fantastic... More

SHANGHAI HOTEL Recently stayed here for 3 nights. A few good points where the location, the room size, the bed and the shower. However there where also a good few bad points from our stay here. First of all, the staff member behind the desk wasn't exactly friendly, no smiles, very snappy when speaking to us. Having coming from Japan... More

The location is fantastic, being right in the middle of east Nanjing road's pedestrian section. This is also important for taking a cab there, as the address is on Nanjing road, but that section of the road is pedestrian only, so be prepared. I stayed in January and it was unusually cold and windy outside. The wind could be easily... More

The beds were a little bit hard and the wifi problematic. Breakfast was inedible. But I would stay here again because the price was great for this location and the rooms are large and clean. Our room looked over Century square where the morning ritual of Taichi is charming.

Located in the hustle and bustle of East Nanjing Road. The building is older and has a lot of character and the rooms are clean and very homely. Our room had a great view of the busy street below. Breakfast was included with our room. Would stay here again should we revisit Shanghai!

The hotel is in the seventh floor of a building with some shops. Our room was refurnished and completely new. The price is really great, if you have in mind that this hotel is in the beginning of Nanjing Road and really close to People's square. Chinese breakfast with a few options. When you go with low expectations like we... More

The location of the hotel is great - in one of the big shopping streets near the metro station and a "Big Bus" station. The facade and the windows have to be renoved, the staff was not very friendly and the breakfast was not really good (plates and cups were missing, food was not really good) - but the rooms... More

The hotel is situated in very good position, a few minutes by walk to the metro station of Nanjing Road Est and to the People's Park; not too far from the Bound. The rooms are not big, the bathroom and the towels are not very clean. The wifi connection is very bad. The breakfast is in Chinese style and very... More

Great place for the very reasonable price. Rooms clean, staff spoke English and helped with getting cabs and changing money for standard rate with no commission. Breakfast became boring as it was the same each day and unless you arrive as it opened at 7:00 am, food on buffet got cold and stale. Tang is not my idea of orange... More

Really impressed with this hotel, right in the heart of Nanjing Road. It was fabulous. Basically walk out the door and you are in the middle of all the colour and action. There were three in our room so one bed was a fold out but it was a great fold out with a proper big mattress so all of... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
