Spacious room, decor a bit faded, but comfortable bed and as the hotel is so central it was a great base to come and go from. It is about 2 mins walk from main shopping area, 5 mins walk from 2 underground stations so easy to get around the rest of the city. Good coffee shops nearby and the restaurant...

First of all, this hotel looks great in pics, but beware, it is not what it seems. If you are a non smoker and don't like cigarettes DO NOT GO HERE. This is a smoking hotel, every room. The rooms smell gross disgusting full of smoke. The washrooms have a vent system that connects with other rooms, and it was...

Hotel is located few minutes walking from Nanjing pedestrian and People´s square and the Bund is 15 minutes walking away. For me location was excellent, because I stayed just 2 nights and I wanted to see as much as possible. Room, bathroom were clean, hotel staff helpful and professional. The money exchanging machine in the lobby is made my trip...

The hotel is pretty good for the price paid. It is located just 5 minuts walking from People's Square and 15 minutes walking from the Bund. The rooms are ok, maybe a little bit dark if they are located in the inner part of the building. The breakfast is good but quite expensive (50¥). I would stay at this hotel...

The hotel definatly needs some refurbishing and the room's lighting was bad. The staff was friendly and helpful except for one guy at the concierge counter that was unfriendly. The money exchanging machine in the lobby is a jackpot. Also, the location is great.

This hotel was a reasonably good value and was within walking distance to great shopping and the Bund. Rooms were small, but adequate. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was good. The breakfast buffet had a very large selection of local favorites and western fare. The staff spoke some English, but I was glad we were with our...

I stayed there for one night in July 2016 - overall I wasn't very impressed. The room was quite dingy and stuffy and the staff weren't of much help. It is not expensive but you can find better value for money places elsewhere in Shanghai

The Only good thing about this hotel is its location right in the centre of Shanghai. However, there are many much better hotels in the same area. The front desk staff set the tone here: rude and almost hostile. The public areas of the hotel are grubby and the carpets in the corridors filthy. To be fair, my room was...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
