This hotel is meant only the brave ones who are transiting through SHA & need to stay very close to terminal 1, just as we required to in order to catch an early morning domestic flight from terminal 1. This is the only real positive as the hotel is 1 minute walk from KFC & just behind the taxi point... More

If you are here to experience Shanghai in any sort of memorable way, this is probably not the hotel for you. If you would like to sleep in the prone position as oppose in a McDonald's restaurant, then this hotel might fit your needs. I stayed here on a 12 hour layover between Shanghai and Kuming, China. It smells of... More

Having lived in China for a year I frequently stayed in Shanghai hotels, I have written many reviews on Chinese hotels and fortunately most of them have been positive. Although it was roughly a year ago when I stayed here (but I would happily chance a 1000 yuan bet that it hasn't changed a bit since then!) I would personally... More

I had been for a weekend to Shanghai and wantedt to stay at this hotel in order to avoid stress the next morning before departure. When the taxi came closer to the hotel I already saw the flashlights of the hotel which alarmed me. Lots of Chinese "business" men in front of the door, die receptionists were not able to... More

Well, even though this Hotel is connected to the Hongqiao Airport, that is the only thing in its favour.. On Chinese New Years Eve I travelled back to Shanghai from Wenling by Coach... Awesome journey... 5 hours of continual Fireworks display along the expressway......then caught a taxi to the Hongqiao Airport as I was on the early flight Chinese New... More

This place is horrible. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport. I had a 11:00 pm arrival and an 8:00 am departure the next day so it made sense. When I tried to check in, first I was told that my Olympics credential (which serves as a Visa) was no longer valid. I tried to point... More

This hotel is rated three stars by the Chinese Government. I can only comment on the economy rooms though since that's what I had. I stayed at this hotel twice (One night each) over a three week span of traveling around Southeast Asia. The reason I chose it? Cheap, but the main reason is because it is literally connected with... Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
