Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly
governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French
Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,

Spent a night in a twin sharing room with a friend. Room was clean, beds were comfy and room size is typical of a hotel room. However, the air con is not cooling. For some reason, you are not able to adjust the temperature for the air conditioner and hence, I was stuck with 25 de

The hotel is quiet and beds are comfy. I highly recommend it for business travellers, it's also near to the industrial area and there are lots of markets and restaurants around. What I didn't like was the staff can't speak English which were hard for communication and the breakfa

Very well presented hotel with nice modern rooms ( big glass viewing panel in bedroom to bathroom not to everyone’s taste)! But generally would stay again and breakfast very good with huge range. Hotel seems well positioned for interesting walks around historic areas.

Stayed for 3 night as part of Jules Verne package. Room comfortable. Breakfast buffet probably above average. We were on floor 24, lifts worked well (not to be taken for granted at all hotels!) Metro lines within 15 min walk provide quick and cheap access to Bund etc. There are a

After booking before reading the reviews I was a little wary the hotel would not be up to scratch.

Anyway, the receptionists English and service was fine.

The room was fine and clean too.

The bathroom is a little old but mine was not bad.

Breakfast was ok. Some of the hot fo

If 2 adults (aged 18 or above) are booking for one room (staying together), is it necessary to provide appropriate ID / passport of both, or is it okay just to provide one of the adults' ID/passport?
Local travel brochures can be obtained from the conciege. I think there is a travel office on the second floor.

Hello. I would like to know if the check-in can be proceeded with only the PAPER COPY of my original passport (and VISA). My passport's expiry date is soon and so one of my relative is taking it with her to my home country, will renew it, and then probably bring it back to me by August. However, I am planning to book this hotel for mid-July. Hence I would only be able to have a PAPER COPY of my original passport (and VISA) with me for check-in. So, to simplify, my question is: Can the check-in at this hotel be proceeded only with a PAPER COPY of an original passport (and VISA)? And additional question! If 2 adults (aged 18 or above) are booking for one room (staying together), is it necessary to provide appropriate ID / passport of both, or is it okay just to provide one of the adults' ID/passport?
