Thank you Michael, Stevie and the team for a splendid time. It felt like being part of history, so much to discover and appreciate. The weather was a little gloomy but it was worth the trip, the team also had COVID testing around the block and also had tests done- check with the concierge if they have testing that day!
Really nice decorating style and very smooth and friendly service.Alexander helped us a lot with luggage storage and introduced us with “food searching “😝 . The experience was absolutely 10/10 ! I would love recommend to everyone this place Would definitely come again!
Having just spent the long weekend at this hotel, it is now my first choice upon future trips to Shanghai. Staff are super friendly, and their service is very genuine. Alexander and the doormen on Nanjing East Road are also most welcoming. The hotel has the best location to experience Shanghai, and the building itself is iconic. The building is beautiful and the original features are well maintained. It really makes you feel you are in the heart of the city. The room was very well laid out and comfortable, and staff are very accommodating at breakfast and can provide you with food which was not originally out as part of the buffet. That was really kind of them. I look forward to my next visit!
A True Classic Hotel that has been well maintained and looked after by the staff and Management. Stayed one night and was upgraded to a bund suite. An amazing room with views over the bund, classic luxury settings of the room features, ( too many to list here) Gold lounge was a great stop to relax and fresh over Happy Hour after shopping on Nanjing road for the afternoon. Breakfast was a mix of Chinese and Western, with attentive staff looking after all types of guests, ( Family/Kids, Couple and few corp travellers like myself) Great location to visit the traditional and bund area of Shanghai, as a first-time stay would recommend, and I plan to visit again with family next time in Shanghai.
My wife and I booked a Gold room for our wedding anniversary, and we were blown away by how well we were treated by Nana and all of the staff executive lounge staff. They went out of their way to make our stay and the occasion special for us, and we felt everything at this hotel was absolutely top notch! The Fairmont is a big step up from other luxury hotels in Shanghai. The service throughout the premises is the most attentive and friendly we have seen at a big hotel in China, and the prime location, decor, and well-known history are added bonuses. We enjoyed a drink and watching the oldest jazz band at the bar downstairs, and had a nice dinner at Dragon Phoenix. We appreciated that you can enjoy a lively bar and a nice dinner without leaving the hotel; usually it’s difficult to get one of these during your stay. We have stayed at other reputable hotels in Shanghai since the pandemic began, but we often find the facilities to be limited, the rooms slightly worn, and the food and service mediocre. However, the food both in the lounge and at the breakfast buffet was very fresh and varied during our stay at the Fairmont, and the room appeared to be meticulously maintained. If you are wanting a true 5-star experience, this hotel will definitely not disappoint. Thank you again for the memorable experience!…
Everything well, except few details that hotel could improve to make it perfect. The lounge is a little bit disappointing. All the staff can speak very well English which is a great bonus, and they are all very affectionate! Breakfast is great, great choice of Chinese and western food!
Fantastic service. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The location is beside the bund. You can have a good view in their canteen during the normal day not holiday. The jazz bar is quite cool and very traditional. There are lots of choices in the breakfast.
Decided to stay a night on Dec 31, 2021. Pity there was no fireworks at the Bund but it was still a fascinating experience. I was quite disappointed that the rooftop was closed as well. So wanted to take some photos from there. Room was beautiful and clean. Service was friendly. We enjoyed tea and ‘dinner’ at the 9th flr lounge which was peaceful and food was yummy. Breakfast was a good spread; we had ours in the Jazz Bar. Was a good and quiet New Year’s celebration for us!
I used the Peace Hotel for a Surprise Wedding Anniversary Weekend, which was a couple of months in the planning. From the initial outreach to the sales team (Adam), the service and engagement was prompt and efficient. As the planning drew closer and the details of what I wanted to do, the hotel's service team called and asked to get involved (Matthieu). The entire staff team is geared to delight – and they are willing to suggest, propose and engage when approached. This took the surprise to another level. The hotel itself is amazing - an Art Deco institution. Lots of spaces, art and fixtures to explore. It is worth a stay all by itself. The room was spacious (I was surprised how spacious given it is an older building) and efficiently laid out. Everything was modern, well-proportioned and clean. Adding in Matthieu and his team, and the hotel takes you back to the heady days of Shanghai where you can pretend to be a real estate magnate for a day. We also used most of the hotel facilities – Chinese restaurant, Western restaurant, Spa and Jazz Band. The staff in each place are all very delightful – experience with them is super pleasant. it was an amazing weekend that exceeded all expectations with lots of pleasant surprises planned by Matthieu and his team. I would highly recommend the hotel - business or pleasure - and for esp. planning a special event.…
Love the whole experience in this well presented hotel; every detail made me to think about the olden gold ear of Shanghai. Excellent customer service and room service. Must try the old Jazz bar. Rooftop drinking at night, to see the beautiful river view.
