Room was good, the only problem with this hotel is you have to go to the 54th floor then walk across the lobby into a separate lift to get to the ground floor. Which isn't that bad, until you realise that beyond 1am there is a team of aggressive 'massage' sellers hiding in the lobby and outside the front of the hotel. This would be fine if it's the middle of Amsterdam but not at a 5 star hotel in shanghai. For the price of the room don't think it should include harassment from the 'massage' sellers.

My suite was clean, spacious, and well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the ones at the Grand Club. The breakfast buffet at ON56 was top notch, and definitely don't miss the Club 9 bar with a panoramic bund view on the 87th floor. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Lujiazui, with walking distance to the IFC Mall and newly opened L+Mall.

My boyfriend and I decided to do a staycation in Shanghai and stayed in the hotel! The service was excellent. The front desk staff were polite and could speak English fluently. The facilities in the hotel room was clean and well kept. The view over the river from our hotel room was also magical. Overall our visit in the hotel was pleasurable. I will definitely be going back for another visit again.

I called two weeks in advance, letting them know that I would like a room with a great view, as it was important to me. I followed-up on the morning of, telling them I would be arriving later (6pm) and would like them to keep a room with a good view for me when I got there. So, when I got there, yes, there was a room with a nice view, but it smelled like a cigarette factory. I asked to be moved, and was, to a room with a less-quality view (but without the Marlboro Man as my roommate). So again, I asked to be moved, and this time was returned to another room with olfactory hues of tobacco. Truth is, I don't have time for trifle nonsense like this, but of course, it being China, they deflected responsibility, saying it was "busy", "summer", "excuse, excuse, excuse". That's why I called ahead. Twice. It still remains the Grand Hyatt, and it still remains Shanghai, but it felt more like a Best Western in Times Square, with the hording of guests in and out, with little attention paid to what I expect from a 5-Star Hotel.
