Stayed here for 5 days on a business trip. The hotel was nice, clean, and well-attended. Smallish rooms, but well appointed and with all the needed trappings. The bed was very comfortable and there was never a problem with any noise or interruptions. The gym and spa were great, and the overall service was above average. Its close to the...

The Westin Bund in Shanghai is a great Westin location. I'm always happy with the accommodations, food and service, and many times you can get a reasonable rate by booking a pre-paid room. I tend to eat few meals at hotels and prefer to explore the city. The Westin Bund's location allows for easy access to the Bund area as...

We stayed here for one night and got a great deal on a last minute booking. The room was on the small side which is to be expected in any large city, but very nice. The bathroom was fantastic and almost as big as the room. It was a short walk to both the Bund and Nanjing Road shopping, though...

I stayed at the Westin Bund for a business trip and had a fantastic stay. The rooms are very clean, tastefully designed, and have a very modern design. The bathrooms are beautiful and and equipped with soaker tubs, a nice touch. I loved the accomodations. I was particularly impressed by the high level of service that I received at this...

Beautiful accommodations just 2 blocks - easy walk - to the bund. Plenty of space in the Deluxe room, with King, and deep bath tub with separate shower and separate toilet stall. Excellent on-site eateries including a deli, dim sum weekend brunch buffet, Italian restaurant, snazzy lobby bar with pian music, and much much more. Has to be THE best...

A beautiful hotel. Typical dark wood colours in the rooms. Very clean with all the trimmings. Breakfast is fantastic and staff are very good. Some language barrier issues just like everywhere, but staff seem happy to be working here.

After spending a few nights at the Sheraton in HK my next destination was the Westin in Shanghai, I chose the Westin to keep within the Starwood group as I'm an SPG Gold Member. I made the booking at the last minute and got a pretty good rate and the check-in was easy. The room was quite small, smaller than...

Westin is well located near the Bund with great rooms – large bathtub, good size lounge area and the Westin heavenly bed. Views toward the Bund from some rooms. There is a Starbucks in the lobby of the office building, connected to the hotel –very handy. Staff speak good English and are very helpful with taxis.

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
