Our room was up on the 21st floor and right on the corner so we ad to walls of windows to look out of for our view which was very colourful at night. The food was good in the restaurant during the day and the breakfast was all anyone could wish for. The room was very comfortable and the service... More

Fantastic room, spacious and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. My husband and son have coeliac and require gluten free food. The chef came to see us and advise what they could eat off the menu, the options were limited but they did everything they could to accomodate us and we didn't go hungry. Amazing service! We lived it here... More

The best part of this hotel is the rooms. They are very nice and huge--the only place I've had a larger room is in Dubai. The hotel itself is great too. The major downside of the hotel is the food. The quality is not good and it is way over priced. A cup of coffee comes out to about $8.

Great place near all the action of the city center. Close to many attractions and metro. Good restaurants in site and in the area. Breakfast although not the best ever, but has solid selection of Asian and western choices. Good gym and spa. Will certainly return.

A very well placed hotel with a marvellous large entrance hall and integrated bar and restaurant. Very comfortable rooms with plush décor and very comfortable bed. Excellent buffet food or a-la-carte restaurant (Chinese).

The hotel is what I would call a functional busy hotel, its a big hotel with 2 towers, room is not the most modern but it serves well enough. They probably need a refurb as it looks dated. They have a large atrium and lounge in the centre on the ground floor, which is good for meetings. Its a noisy... More

The hotel was comfortable, well kept and walking distance to Nanjing road. The view from my room was the Oriental Pearl Tower, which was nice. Room service was prompt and the morning breakfast buffet was well stocked.

I stayed here for five nights on a business trip. Check in was very easy and my room was ready upon arrival. I appreciate that they provide four bottles of water each day for the room. The room was clean and spacious. Housekeeping is a bit sporadic. Some of the days it was very good, other days not so much.... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighborhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
