I spent 4 days at this hotel last week. The location was pretty easy to get to and mostly close to key meetings in Shanghai. The taxi's certainly knew the hotel, but we did get some refusals to take us to hotel or from hotel due to "too short". We soon discovered that this could not be the reason as... More

The hotel is definitely business people oriented. It has everything you would expect from a Hilton. Although our room was not as modernly renovated as the other hotels where we stayed at in Beijing and Xi'an, there was one good surprise that we could access FB and Gmail. The only real complaint was the humidity in the room. We understand... More

This hotel is located handy to many attractions. Great customer service. Staff at the reception speak English. Great breakfast however they repeat the same menu most of the day so you might get sick of eating the same food over and over. Staff at the restaurant are friendly however communication with them could be very difficult due to poor English.... More

Everything is perfect except there is no free wifi provided. I needed to pay RMB80 for a 24-hr in-room wifi service. I suppose wifi service should be included for a hotel of such class but to my surprise, it didn't. Location is good, just around 500m from Jing An Si station. Room is clean, big and comfortable. I ordered a... More

The Hilton Shanghai has its act together on every level. The staff is super efficient. The first morning after I went up to the 38th floor executive lounge for a quick breakfast, I returned to find my room completely cleaned, with everything in order, literally even my makeup ordered in the way I would have used it, which was not... Breakfast - noodles should not be cooked in advance as the soup turns cold easily. Fried eggs were also cooked in advance, egg white becomes dried and egg York is fully cooked. Next most important, there is room for improvement for conceige, service is poor. Request taxi pick up everyday from 8am for two weeks on day 1 arrival but... More

Always had an enjoyable stay here. The diamond and gold benefits are great. The lounge checkin is nice. Views of the temple and the neighborhood is nice. Good quality western, indian restaurants around the hotel. Its not a sightseeing kind of hotel. I've stayed here about 10 times, and always enjoy walking to Nanjing road, visiting the temple and the... More

Good location, friendly service, executive lounge is pretty good. Breakfast was ok, varied, both at the main restaurant and at the executive lounge. Overall, somewhere I will want to stay when Im back in Shanghai again.

Staying in Jing'an

Neighborhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
