It was my first time in a hostel, and I can tell I was a little bit afraid how to deal with a different people sleeping in the same room. But I loved this hostel, cause it is very clean, organized and cheap. People that host there are very respectful. And the great part, you can meet people all over... More

Local good, public area good, sociable setup, massive outdoor hangout area where you can enjoy the sun a bit (oh well, when it's sunny). The only downside is the room. I stayed in a 8 mix dorm and it's a bit too small and a bit smelly and just a bit shady. So would be nice if you just need... More

Stayed with three other friends. This hostel was full so we can't booked four-bed female dorm and opted for 6 beds.Clean toilet & bathroom (important!). 10 minutes walking from the metro station, but there's a halal food restaurant nearby so it's a huge plus point for us. Wi-fi only available in the lobby & annoying at first, but being forced... More

Staying in shanghai for a couple of days its a good place to go. Pretty clean and staff is nice not far from the metro station which is only about 10 minutes away from the center. Downside internet really slow but have not gotten anything really fast in China anyways.

For the record I had never stayed in a hostel prior to staying at Blue Mountain, but it was a great place to stay. The staff was quite nice and helpful. The location was amazing - super close to East Nanjing Road and a short walk to the Bund. The directions provided from the airport were spot on. My friends... More

Hostel provides the basics for an OK stay. Staff speaks very little English but are helpful when approached. Dorms are roomy and have lockers. Ambiance in lobby is nice. Bathrooms and showers are cleaned often.

Close enough to the highlights near the Bund, and also close enough to metro station. Rooms were a little sparse, but clean and not outdated. Breakfast was a overpriced, but still worth it if you like hot food for breakfast. The street it's located on is pretty quiet, and the elevator to get up to the hostel is a little... More

We stayed in a private double, with a roll-away bed for our daughter. It had a fairly private balcony and a nice view. The staff were friendly and most spoke good English. They had great restaurant recommendations (Yang's Dumplings were amazing) and even booked a acrobat show for us. The wifi in the room was pretty good and no additional... More

The hostel is not the best and not the worst where I had been. Booked the triple room for the weekend. Clean, small, a little bit too dark, no window. The atmosphere around the bar area could be better. I did not feel that there's a lot of socializing going on. Location and price are good. Staff is friendly and... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighborhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
