I went to Shanghai for work and stayed at the Hotel Nikko. It's not in the most convenient area. But it's in an area which is relatively easy to get a cab. Also it's located quite close to the subway station. All in all, not too bad. 30+min to Lujiazui door to door by subway. Rooms are clean and city...

I am about to write the worst review ever but it feels like a duty to alert whoever might consider that hotel for their next trips to Shanghai. It started well with a pretty fast check-in but the initial feeling disappeared when entering the room. Temperature was of 30.8 celsius... Well it happens that AC system has a problem and...

Check in is slow at times. Location is good to get around shanghai as it is near major highways and malls. The Japanese food on the 3rd floor is good. Suggest to ask for non-smoking room as the smoking rooms have a strong smell ..

Good central location; good rooms and overall infrastructure; Japanese management can be felt throughout the facility and also inside the rooms (especially through the heated toilets ;)) the staff is quite slow and unprofessional for a 5 star rated hotel; the internet is extremely slow; Good option only if you are getting a good offer.

This is a typical Japanese brand hotel. With grand lobby, large and comfortable room and facilities. The staff are very proactive and helpful. We tried to look for a nice place to have a drink after midnight. Since the bar at hotel has closed, a male staff gave us recommendations nearby. Only one minor shortfall: insufficient of staff station at...

This review is the reason I register with TripAdvisor, as I think it is important to inform my fellow travelers, especially those on business, to watch out for this hotel. To be fair, the rooms in the hotel are decent. Comfortable bed, clean bath and shower facilities. Great spa experiences, would highly recommend. On the other hand, service standard dropped...

Avoid the Nikko Shanghai if you can help it, Hilton is nearby for similar price and much better service. The staff and management don’t really care about customer service and the rooms face one of the main arterial routes into Shanghai, is right outside the window it is busy 24-hours, not good for trying to sleep.

Rooms in desperate need of refurbishment. The hotel staff appear to be totally untrained. To call them amateur would be too much of a compliment. Management is non-existent. Almost everything on the room service menu is not available. Hardly anyone speaks English. I cannot thing of a single neutral, let alone positive, thing to say about the place.

Landed at Nikko as regular hotel had no rooms. Would come back for following - v good price when booked through agent. Excellent swimming pool, gym and sauna. Did not use spa but looked good. Maybe not because - tried to extend my 4 night stay by 1 night and was asked to go to agent as the hotel could...

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighborhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
