Classic, Historic Hotel
NUMBER OF ROOMS
We stayed one night . The building was nice as was the size of the rooms (deluxe). Needed some minor renovation which we pointed out Quality toiletries and blissful shower. Great bed , pillows so so . The temperature of the hotel was uncomfortable for us as it was overheated . The breakfast selection looked impressive but was quite cold, even the soup we ordered a la carte. Really mixed feelings here as it had great bones but the service levels were very underwhelming. Location was good on the bund and only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the metro. We will put our disappointment due to the holiday period and team were pre occupied .
The Waldorf Astoria in Shanghai is a fabulous hotel !!! Elegant and chic rooms with stunning views. We have been there 5 times by now and this hotel keeps amazing us. General Manager Fabio Berto, whom we met before at the Waldorf Astoria Cavalieri in Rome, together with his French Executive Assist.Manager Matthieu Desreumaux, know how to welcome HH Diamond members. The combination of Italian and French style brings the great Oriental hospitality to a top level. Our stay was super ! Also thank you to Personal Concierge Jessica Wang, chef William (who always takes so good care of my wife's food allergy) and his team, Tracy at the restaurant, and so many others whose names escape me now.
As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I travel worldwide for both corporate and leisure - staying in Hilton properties throughout America, Europe, and Asia. Thanks to Mei Li and her Personal Concierge Team, the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is my favorite Hilton property in the world. I previously was assisted by Mei on a corporate visit to the Waldorf Shanghai and mentioned I'd be bringing my wife back to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Mei stayed in touch with me to plan our visit, personally greeted us on our arrival, absolutely nailed it with a spectacular upgrade, outfitted our room with baloons/roses/candles, and made a wonderful/personal effort with a handwritten welcome letter. With the challenges of traveling in China without a local bank account, Mei's team helped us aquire concert tickets, plan and book a day trip to Hangzhou, and ensured every aspect of our stay was spectacular. My wife an I have never been treated so wonderfully. We can't wait to return.…
The Waldorf Astoria was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. This property has a luxurious old style Shanghai design that does not disappoint in any areas. Rooms are comfortable with gorgeous views out onto the bund.Staff are personable who show great care for their guests. And the breakfast was outstanding with the best Bircher muesli I have ever had. I would, given the opportunity stay again.
Had a wonderful experience stayed at Waldorf Astoria Beijing before ,I have a high expectations for this hotel as well. The room is comfy, reasonably spacious but there is no basic toiletries supply.Although you can request for free but isn’t it tooth brush is a basic toiletries for the guests than other stuff like sewing kits . Another complaint is the air conditioning is really disappointing. The room was very warm and the temperature was not adjustable. Although we already lodged a complaint to the front desk but was not improving & we were sleeping in the warm room for 3 nights. Location is not really that ideal as it is between the 2 subway station, take about 20 mins to walk to either station.
