I stayed at this hotel for 4 times, but it is always not easy to book as the rooms were always not enough. It is due to the Shanghai Expo Center nearby, but also thanks to its superior room, amenities, service and excellent breakfast. However, as many of expo visitors stays in this hotel, the hotel lobby and/or elevators may...

Hi I stayed here from Apr 4 to 9th. Very impressed with the rooms and service. Great value for money. Strongly recommended for business travelers. The location is great as it is just a cross the road from the main exhibition Centre.

Stayed three days for a biz trip and checked out on May 19. They charged me directly on foreign currency instead of local one without asking me the option. They tried to earn more through exchange rate. This is cheating. Doorman is also very rude with no patient to get a taxi for me. This hotel did not perform like...

Great location close to Kerry mall and many restaurants. Hotel has convenient morning shuttle to technology park and is located next to a subway stop. It is very easy to get to from Pudong airport. I spent two weeks at the hotel on a business trip and would not hesitate to recommend it to my colleagues.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. It is so beautifully and stylishly done that it makes you forget how far it is from The Bund in the city center. The rooms are excellent and totally worth staying in! Ps: A cool sports bar right across the hotel for pool lovers.

One of the best hotel I have experienced. Leave alone the perfect location, with direct access to the SNIEC fairground, leave alone the spacious , elegantly furnished rooms, the dreamland spa, the service and small details make the difference here. Back from Dinner, I find a a bottle of water and a thermos with hot water for tea on the...

I had stayed at Jumeirah Shanghai multiple times during my business travels to Shanghai. The location of this hotel is best suited for travel from airport. The area around is very nice to take a stroll, not far from central park. Kerry parkside is nearby for various food options, esp. if you are vegetarian. Metro connectivity adds to the ease...

At check-in you are greeted by very friendly staff. The rooms are well equipped and quiet. Ideal location for visiting the nearby exhibition center because no taxi is needed. Also distance to airport about 30 minutes without much risk of traffic jam.

Staying in Century Park

Neighborhood Profile
Century Park
Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle down and stop living in the cramped confines of a refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park are some of the most desirable as they are in close proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw, it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports fields tucked into one of its corners, but five-star hotels, museums and great malls make life in the Century Park area easy for the homesick foreigner. And if living in a Western bubble in China isn’t your thing, there is plenty of local flavor to be had in between the major development. Some of Lujiazui’s futurism can also be seen in buildings and sculptures throughout the neighborhood as well.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai is perfectly placed for business and leisure. Located in the heart of Pudong, the hotel is directly opposite the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and close to the green expanse of Century Park. Metro line 7 is accessed directly from the basement of the Himalayas Centre, allowing easy citywide connections. The Maglev train station is just a short walk away for speedy seven-minute transfers to/from Pudong International Airport. Construction of the Himalayas Centre started in 2006 under the direction of world-renowned architect Arata Isozaki, who also created the Barcelona Olympic Stadium and Los Angeles MoMA. Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel opened in March 2011. Inspired by Chinese cultural elements and traditional feng shui principles, architect Arata Isozaki designed the landmark Himalayas Center, where Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel is located. A three-dimensional Urban Forest comprising dramatically sculpted columns defines the central section of the Himalayas Centre. It also carries an important loading capacity function and provides an arresting entrance to the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel. Tien Shu Patterned Walls Wrapped around the base of the two towers presents a conceptual interpretation of ancient Chinese characters from the Tien Shu by Cang Jie. Special windows have also been custom made to subtly insert between the characters allowing light to flood the hotel interiors. The Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel tower is constructed in the form of the Yu Cong, an ancient Chinese ritual object formed from an outer square representing earth, and inner circle representing heaven. The cylindrical atrium stretches 14 levels through the centre of the tower. ... more   less
