Visited shanghai with friends for a brief stay. Arrived by subway as this hotel is right above the station Huamu Road on Line 7. Courteous check in, spacious simplistic room, good buffet dinner at surprisingly low price and we managed a bottle of Rioja at RMB330. Stayed here around 10 years ago when it was new but the hotel has...

It's a nice hotel but unfortunately the hotel quality and Service deteriorates. Over the last couple of years I have stayed at the Jumeirah several times and I see a negative change every year. During my last visit they forgot to clean my room ( upon check-in) and they had to sent in someone from the technical stuff to repair...

We stayed in the suite (17th floor) with great view in the last visit. Quite different with other 5stars hotel as Jumeirah has more larger/brighter room. Reception is always professional and kindness for each stay of us. Especially thanks Chloe,Roland, who brings not only friendly smile but also a great occupational qualities to the guests. Very impressed by the delicious...

This property is an ideal business hotel located conveniently across the street from the trade center. I had many people stay at this hotel and we had an excellent dinner reception for 100 guests in one of the beautifully appointed ballrooms. The food and service were excellent and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Huge room, with all mod cons. There's also an excellent breakfast, as well as a large 24-hour gym plus swimming pool and sauna - all in a modern spectacular building. What more do you want in a Pudong-area business hotel?

The room was very nice and big. Other than that, everything was just average. Breakfast was rather 4* hotel. Overall, I did not feel I am staying at an international five star hotel chain. Staying in Century Park

Neighborhood Profile
Century Park
Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle down and stop living in the cramped confines of a refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park are some of the most desirable as they are in close proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw, it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports fields tucked into one of its corners, but five-star hotels, museums and great malls make life in the Century Park area easy for the homesick foreigner. And if living in a Western bubble in China isn’t your thing, there is plenty of local flavor to be had in between the major development. Some of Lujiazui’s futurism can also be seen in buildings and sculptures throughout the neighborhood as well.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai is perfectly placed for business and leisure. Located in the heart of Pudong, the hotel is directly opposite the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and close to the green expanse of Century Park. Metro line 7 is accessed directly from the basement of the Himalayas Centre, allowing easy citywide connections. The Maglev train station is just a short walk away for speedy seven-minute transfers to/from Pudong International Airport. Construction of the Himalayas Centre started in 2006 under the direction of world-renowned architect Arata Isozaki, who also created the Barcelona Olympic Stadium and Los Angeles MoMA. Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel opened in March 2011. Inspired by Chinese cultural elements and traditional feng shui principles, architect Arata Isozaki designed the landmark Himalayas Center, where Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel is located. A three-dimensional Urban Forest comprising dramatically sculpted columns defines the central section of the Himalayas Centre. It also carries an important loading capacity function and provides an arresting entrance to the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel. Tien Shu Patterned Walls Wrapped around the base of the two towers presents a conceptual interpretation of ancient Chinese characters from the Tien Shu by Cang Jie. Special windows have also been custom made to subtly insert between the characters allowing light to flood the hotel interiors. The Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel tower is constructed in the form of the Yu Cong, an ancient Chinese ritual object formed from an outer square representing earth, and inner circle representing heaven. The cylindrical atrium stretches 14 levels through the centre of the tower. ... more   less
