Currently coming to the end of my 6 week business stay so feel I can give a good review. Firstly the positives. It's virtually on top of a metro stop.... so location is excellent. Overlooks century Park which is lovely. Kerry Park mall is walking distance for good food. So if you don't mind being a train ride away from the main areas it's really spot on..... Now onto the hotel itself.. I can confidently say they serve the worst breakfasts of any hotels I've been to, and I've stayed in a lot all over the world. I've used the breakfast facilities about 4 times in total and the final 3 times was just to see if it improved any which it never did. For a non Chinese visitor it really is bad. As in I would mark it zero stars. No room service food services. Gym is small and very basic. Had I paid for this stay out of my own money and not expensed I'd have been utterly disappointed and would have moved. Rooms in honesty are OK. Light and airy feel to them. Cleaning is OK too.... probably give that aspect 3 stars... overall though its an easy 2 stars for me

We had a great stay at the Dorsett. The place has a nicely decorated lobby with a small patio at the entrance where they also serve drinks. You can connect to their WiFi and work from there. Most of their staff speaks English and they also exchange money for you at the reception. Our room had a balcony with an amazing view to the park. What left to be desired was the hotel restaurant food which was unappetizing and expensive.

This hotel looked like good choice when I booked it in October. Nobody then knew about the novel corona virus epidemic. Airlines and other hotels refunded my money completely, but Dorsett refused. Do not expect reasonable treatment by this hotel.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay here. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a double floor suite- not sure what it’s called. The hotel staff was helpful all the way. We read a lot of reviews about the breakfast being average, but we honestly found it to be sufficiently diverse with enough options even for a vegetarian. The rooms are definitely in need of minor upgrades but everything was very hygienic & room service was quick. The ABSOLUTE BEST part of this place is it’s access to Century Park Metro. If you plan to take the metro everywhere, look nowhere else.

Good points: Right next time century park metro station which is line 2 and takes you direct to peoples park, nanjing east, lujiazui etc. room is comfortable and over looking the park. The park is lovely for a walk. Room comes with a heating panel. Toiletries are sufficient. Water pressure is good. Walking distance from exhibition hall. Negative points: black out curtains can’t be drawn shut due to bed configuration, light seeps in through the edges. Cold seeps in through the windows and balcony door, a counter effect to the heating. Tiny place to hang clothes. Breakfast is utter nonsense. Terribly bad food. Don’t bother.

Stayed for 1 overnight, surprising to be upgraded to the Grand Executive Suite on the top floor, as the rooms are all overbooked and maybe I'm just in for 1 night. Nice and thanks. The room has a small sink and dining table with 4 chairs. Complete with a 4 seater sofa which is quite comfortable. The bed room has a separate makeup table and bathroom is huge as expected. Bed is nice and comfy so that’s most important for me. The morning view of the Century park is very nice and not an everyday sight to see greenery in Shanghai. I was not sure if the executive floor do have separate breakfast, so I went down to the main lobby. Breakfast is normal and not outstanding at all frankly. The coffee machine were situated far in another room and simply don't make sense why it is not next to the bread table or fruit juice counter. There are 2 machine and one of them was not working....Long queue. That’s 1 star off! Calling a cab can be tricky as the route to come into the hotel is from behind and it is best that you asked the concierge for help. Overall it is convenient location to the expo and subway. Avg hotel hospitality so don’t expect much.

Thank you for staying at Dorsett Shanghai and comment made! In order to maintain a good selections of food display at buffet counter, and to direct people flow in breakfast rush hour therefore a separate coffee station set up within a reach of 20 meter, two coffee machine are the choice from our guest, what a coincident that one of the coffee machine wrong press by the previous guest which was fixed by our staff 15 minutes later. Please accept our apology on our overall hotel service standard not met with your specific expectation.

I was positively surprised. The only negative thing I have to say is that the rooms (or at least the one I had) are slightly worn, but cleaning was exceptional and the view over Century Park from the 19th floor was spectacular. I declined the offer to pay for an upgrade, but they upgraded me for free anyway. Breakfast was very good and the hotel location could not be better. It sits right across the road from Century Park and exit 4 from the metro station is literally no more than five steps from the hotel entrance - and under a roof. Line 2 is one of the main lines of the shanghai metro and will get you to and from some of the most important stations (like Pudong Airport, Nanjing Road, the Bund, Shanghai Tower etc.) with no need to change trains. The New Exhibition Centre is roughly 20 min walking distance or two stops (including a change) on the metro. Housekeeping put several bottles of water in the room every day and you can pick up more for free. I did not try any of the restaurants or bars. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Shanghai.

Very conviniet hotel as MRT is just "below" the hotel and Meglav is accesable from Pudong airport to Longyang Road station, change to MRT to Century park station will be Dorsett Hotel. Hotel was clean and cosy, enjoyed staying here as can access to many places since MRT is so convinient.
