Exquisite! Stayed here for New Year with friend, and we had an amazing time. There is definitely a sense of calm once you enter the hotel. The room was sensational - comfy bed and probably the best bath I've had in China! The room was absolutely silent - which was much needed in the busy city! Breakfast in the lobby felt elegant and was top quality. An expensive hotel but well worth it as a treat! Make sure you try the slippers - incredibly comfy!
I had a fantastic stay at Peninsula following my mandatory 2 week quarantine. For a an Englishman to try to deal with all the mandatory covid requirements is was a relief when Mike Zhang and the the excellent team at the hotel literally hand held men through everything i need to do in order to be set up and able to venture safely out the hotel. This included taking me to get local SIM card, setting up the required applications on my iPhone as well as establishing the required links to my British credit cards. I” cannot thank Mike and his team enough. As for the hotel, room and food everything was expertly as expected such quality and comfort throughout the hotel and especially the customer service delivered by each of the staff members from front of house to the cleaning team. Finally the position of the hotel on the Bund was the icing on the cake!! Thank you Mike and everyone for your warm welcome and taking care of me. Best regards, Chris…
Had have to made a visit to Shanghai. Got warm help from concierge to comply with requirements of Covid measurements. Mike Zhang at front desk has been too kind to offer a lot guidance to ease the anxiety during the process. I hope Mike a happy new year of 2022!
I had planned a business day trip to Shanghai from Beijing on Sept 1. Upon my check-in at the Shanghai airport to return to Beijing that evening, I was asked to show my results of the Covid test valid within 48 hours. Of course, I did not have it for no one told me that it was required, hence I was unable to return to Beijing. Tony from the hotel who also gave me a warm welcome upon arrival that morning, escorted me to the check-in counter that evening. He was extremely helpful and immediately called his supervisor to see what can be done. Unfortunately, I was still unable to leave. He then called back the hotel car to take me back to the hotel. In addition, he is aware that I smoke and lighters are not allowed on planes in China. The first thing when he welcomed me at the airport, he handed over a lighter to me. This gesture is highly appreciated!! When I returned to the hotel, Danny the concierge helped me taking the Covid test immediately. He also helped me to download the App and showed me how to obtain the results. A hotel car was already on standby to take me to the Covid test centre. I would like to congratulate Ricci and his team for their efficiency. Without their assistance, I will probably be still stuck in Shanghai. Bravo Ricci!!!! Once again thank you everyone.…
I very fortunately stayed recently at The Peninsula Shanghai Hotel for a three-day staycation. The arrival experience was impeccable, the room absolutely gorgeous and luxurious; I particularly enjoyed all the small acts of kindness our housekeepers gave us placing cleaning wipes next to my laptop or Peninsula bookmarks next to my book for instance! Breakfast was delicious and serene, and the gym quiet and very pristine clean. I can’t wait to stay again! Thank You to Hotel Manager Moky Lam and his team!
Shanghai is one of my Top 5 places to visit and it is beautiful year round. During the New Year, a Bund-side suite provides about the best view of any action worth watching West side of the Pacific. Suite is great; personal attendant en-suite perf, and everything else inside is gorgeous! A little bit more notorious than the stern architecture, starstruck guests creeping around here and there with camera clicks make it hustle and bustle more than relaxing, though the suite is a complete enclave away from din. If you are planning a Shanghai stay, you will fall madly for it all at The Peninsula.
A luxe sanctuary on The Bund, the waterfront symbol of Shanghai, boasting 1930’s art deco style and killer views, but most importantly, home of the city’s top concierges. Any unforseen issues are solved with five-star ease. The kids will got a kick out of the Rolls Royce airport transfer and the unobstructed views of the Oriental Pearl Tower, with it’s giant silver and pink spheres branding the cityscape. This child-friendly hotel offers ice-cream making courses on summer weekends where my six-year old was gently welcomed to China by a bunch of Shanghainese little friends over candy, chocolate sauce and sprinkles - the universal language of sugar addicts.
It’s amazing how good the service is at this place, it’s my go to place in Shanghai when I want to arrange a special event, what I like most is the attention to details, the rooms are great, the service even better and the food nothing but spectacular. But what sets this apart demo other hotels is that nothing is impossible, ask and they will provide, flowers, nice romantic arrangements, gifts you name it. Recommend this to everyone who wants the best service there is.
Thank you to the amazing team at the spa for making a perfect day! From the moment we entered the spa everything was seamless and arranged, with lots of surprises throughout our visit. They added a lovely flower decoration in the room incredible room and even arranged a celebratory cake for us! The therapists were skilled and thoughtful and the facilities were impeccable. Special shoutout to our therapists - Tracy & Jane for taking such good care of us as well as Chris & Kasia for all the arrangements. We will be back! There couldn’t be a better way to relax in shanghai!
The nicest hotel in Shanghai. I’m not an antique lover but this one is an exception to me, I just love all the detail of the luxury. Service is incredible, service are in top and beyond. I would definitely stay again.
