After checking many hotels in Shanghai,we stopped our choice at Narada Boutique Hotel as it had best reviews and feedback. And we never regretted about our choice as its was really amazing place! Its abt one hour by taxi from Pudong airport. Our advise it to take taxi outside, dont follow anyone inside the airport as they are not reliable. It...

Quite a pleasant surprise. Clean room and very good breakfast. Very basic in terms of hotel facilities but are enough for my business trip. Room size is OK and the environment is quite quiet. Many shops nearby but mainly for local consumers. Still, there are department stores and Starbucks. 5-10 minutes' walk from subway station. For those who know the...

The rooms and the bathroom are fairly small but the beds are softer than avrange. Staff are friendly and some of them even speak english. The breakfast had a good choice of chinese and western food. Chinese soups, porridge, noddles, fried egg, toast, jam, pasta, bacon and a lot more. But it is the small things that make a difference the...

A typical boutique hotel, close to the Bund and Yuyuan Gardens, rooms clean and comfortable, breakfast OK. Not at the heart of city but close to metro and even walking distance to the Bund. Close the a shopping district. Price-quality-room comfort were all satisfying. Stayed two years ago for 3 nights. Really recommend. Liked it.

We stayed in this hotel a few years ago (where it had another name, SSAW), and it is basically an OK hotel, in a decent but not perfect locations, with decent breakfast etc But the reason for the 3 stars is clearly temperature and house keeping. There is no way to keep house keeping out, they behave like they own...

Staying in Hongkou

Neighborhood Profile
Hongkou
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.
