I stayed here for 2 nights. Each night were priced at a differ not rate, Friday was ¥100 higher than Saturday. Fair enough.. When I checked in, I was told to give a good review on the hotel to receive an upgrade! Surely I did it. Went in the room was superb. Huge, with separate bath tub and a living...

The staff are friendly, with limited English. Ms. Wu at the front desk was very helpful. Rooms are decent, clean; bathroom has an odd layout. Good for us as we went to shop at the pearl market. Easy to get taxis and there is a great massage place next door.

The hotel is close to some Indian restaurant therefore i opted to stay here. Its 10 minutes walking distance from Delhi Darbar indian restaurant and Vedas. Besides this there is nothing special about this place other location for shopping is 10-15 minutes drive minimum from this property. Staff is OK but particularly housekeeping is not so good they just do...

I stayed here for two nights and was satisfied. Rooms were clean, staff was polite and helping. Not too big choice for breakfast, but enough fruits and vegetables. Generally it was worth it to the price we paid.

Booked this hotel for the Shanghai F1 weekend as it was convenient for the subway and the HongMei bar street. Check in was OK until I stated i was paying cash and was asked for a significant deposit for the mini bar. However when I got to the room there was no minibar. Room was a good size and the...

We stayed in Kingtown for 3 nights only. Room was great with a big big bed :) ! Cleanness so so in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but you must ask when something is missing (bread, yogurt...!!) The hotel is a little bit far away from subway ( 15 minutes ). Reception was nice, but it could be better if...

Having only stayed at this hotel for one night I can only comment on a few aspects of the hotel as I literally only used the hotel as a place to sleep. I selected this hotel due to its proximity to Hongqiao airport as I had an early morning flight. The hotel is a bit further from subway line 10...

I have spend the last weekend in this hotel, which was the first time for me there. Usually I book in Cypress Garden, but the weather cast was threatening my walking habits. In short, it's much closer to a friend who lives there. I was happy to find a nice business suite for a very reasonable price, but as I...

Nice stay, clean and comfortable and friendly staff. Subway 15 mins walk away, though probably a bit suss at night. The area outside has quite a local feel to it! Train from Shanghai Honquiou Railway station (next to the airport) is just a few minutes by taxi (14 yuan) to the Longxi rd station.

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
