Thanks to the front desk team that always well prepared my room in advance. The room is cozy and clean, location is perfect. The hotel combines with a very convenient shopping mall. But I think it will be better the parking fee is free for the hotel guest.
Large, well-appointed rooms with many sustainability features. Terrific attention to detail with special touches, such as different sized slippers/gowns and toothbrushes/toothpaste,for the children. Check-in staff were helpful. The artworks are a delight (TeamLab?) and deserve time to be admired. La Scala, the Michelin star Italian restaurant, provided an impressive meal for the family. It was a unanimous decision that we need to visit the Sukothai again. What a treat.
I am kinda forced to write a review here on TripAdvisor as I clicked on the link for the survey and it redirected here without giving me any option, so here we go. Overall my experience was pleasant and the room and the location is certainly worth the price. Breakfast was a disaster though, with limited choices and a not so good quality. This is one of the few hotels that I have the desire to stay at again in Shanghai for the price, and I’d really appreciate if some of the marketing cost is used to improve breakfast, and I don’t mind to be charged ¥100 more after tax for the same. Oh, sound proofing wasn’t that good though.
Shockingly poor stay . The front desk has no idea of some food menu I asked . The cafe people did not know things I asked about the front desk . What is the general manager doing in his office ? Why no training good staff at all . This hotel is too overrated . No much of the past left .
First impressions are important. Coming off a two week quarantine in Shanghai I looked for a hotel that would accept me for the additional seven days observation period. I called several hotels and asked to talk to the GM as I wanted assurance I would not be turned away. Two hotels responded favorably but only one sounded like they knew what I am talking about. The reservation department handled me rapidly and professionally. But that paled compared to my experience when I walked into the hotel. The front desk personnel were friendly, spoke near perfect English, were professional, assisted me with finding the nearest covid test center, gave me the testing times and reserved a car for me. Then they proceeded to solve the mystery of obtaining the Shanghai green code without which I could not go anywhere. All this was done by a young lady named Angela who deserves to be employee of the month for several months. Then the mystery of actual downloading the the covid results became a challenge as it does not come to ones email or phone. So another exceptional young lady at the front desk showed me the app and downloaded the results for me on two different occasions. Thank you Claire, another candidate deserving several employee of the month award. These two ladies patiently spent a very long time working with me and they truly knew what they were doing. I also observed they and the other front desk staff interacted with everyone with friendliness and patience. Everyone left the desk satisfied. This standard of service was visible in food outlets, housekeeping and throughout the hotel. The hotel itself is comfortable, very well located, with clean and comfortable rooms. The Thai cuisine is excellent. The breakfast buffet and particularly the nasty coffee needs improvement. But overall an outstanding experience thanks to the excellent staff. …
the location of the hotel is good. it is in the old jingan and good place to walk around or shopping. the people here is nice especially those at the reception, very professional and kind. the room is clean and well designed. i will recommend this hotel to others.
the location of the hotel is perfect good. it is in old jing'an district and connected to shopping mall. you can also walk to small romantic old street back to the 1800s built by the french. the service is good. the lady at the reception today is professional and kind. you smile like a bloom. the room is well designed and many people came just for making good photos. i will recommend this hotel to anyone who come to shanghai.
Room was well equipt with everything you need. Bathroom extraordinary well. Good and stable Inzernetconnection. Polite service. Luggage was loaded and went defect by misshandling of employee. No excuse or offer for compensation. Due to lack of time left Hotel without longer complaining.
As a discovery black membership. I was surprised that I got billed out at 12 without asking me whether I need any late check out or not. Other than that the hotel got perfect everything. Hope you would keep this in mind and we’ll train your employees
The front desk, Han Wang, hates American. She throw my passport and extreme bad attitude. And she never scared! When I told her that, she just said go talk to manager! Extreme sick management system!!
