I eat here all the time (my office is next door) and the food is pretty good. It is expensive but it's good and the environment is nice. I especially like having coffee meetings in the main restaurant - beautiful views and comfortable seats. However, I have never stayed here and I won't because this hotel (like the Hyatt Regency Suzhou) plays games with standard suite night availability for Globalists. I am very loyal to Hyatt. Because of how much I stay, I am given TSUs to use to guarantee an upgrade to a standard suite when available - the problem is that this hotel never makes standard suites available. I have called repeatedly for 4 years, asking for just one single night anytime that I can use a TSU to get an upgrade to a standard suite. But amazingly in 4 years there has never been a single night available. How is that possible? This hotel is clearly playing games with standard suite availability. It makes it frustrating and difficult for local Hyatt guests to stay loyal to Hyatt when so many of their hotels don't make standard suites available (ever) for guests to book. The park hyatt Hangzhou is another property that never has standard suites available. So while this is a pretty good hotel design wise, and the food is good even if expensive, they'll never get my business here - they are gaming the system and not giving globalists the benefits that they deserve.

Hotel's Favorite
Park Hyatt Shanghai for 16 days. Everything exceeded my expectations by far. Accomodation with a terrific view. Super clean. Well trained personnel. High level breakfast at 91th floor breathtaking. Super Spa and swimming pool at floor 85. Super steakhouse and excellent Chinese restaurant. I would highly recommend.

I’ve stayed at this property a few times now, mostly for business trips. The hotel is in a nice location and the rooms are modern and spacious, not to forget the great views from all the floors. The staff is quite friendly, My only disappointment with this property is the limited number of vegetarian items in any of their menus. Finding English speaking staff members who can understand and help is another challenge. Ok for a stay, but not for the food.

Overall, great guest service, I did some research prior to the stay, found that people usually has a not very positive impression on service from PH Shanghai. I cannot explain it but however, from my and my girlfriend’s personal experience, we found the service was really good, not too intimate but more attentive and appropriate. Personal when it comes to service, I think it’s not good for a luxury hotel to deliver either too intimate or too indifferent, but given my personal experience this time, I think the whole staff team is successfully striking the balance between this two, which is excellent. As a luxury hotel lover, Park Hyatt is one of my favorite brand, I love it because it’s the best design and the sense of place it creates, however when it comes to service, I would say there are still some space for hotel to improve, compare to other brands that famously for their service such as Ritz Carlton and Mandarin Oriental. Don’t get me wrong, I mentioned these two brands name just because I really like Park Hyatt, and I want it to has a same level of service as they have. I don’t really wish when people think of Park Hyatt, only design stuffs would come to theirs mind but not service. Design is something about lower limit, but the service can decide how high is your upper limit. Both are important, all up to what the brand really wants to be and what impressions the brand want its guests to have. But whatever it is, service is always the last thing to ignore. Anyway great service, much better than I expected, I will list some areas of improvement in the following boxes. Last but not least, I would like to give kudos and applaud to Zachary from front desk, Juanna( manger), and Ivy from sales department. Without their help and presence, my experience with PH Shanghai cannot be such a memorable. Really appreciate it. What a great hotel and lovely brand!

Have been stayed in this hotel since it’s opening, happy coming back after the COVID break, still one of the best hotel in Shanghai. Facilities are well kept and service is always good. Only consideration, the rooms are from the 70’s floor, not for people afraid of heights, also both the properties and the room’s lightly are very stylish, can’t turn to super bright if that’s what you need.

The hotel is in the center of the financial district, and it is surrounded by shopping centers and restaurants. The check-in process was smooth and fast. While waiting for my room to be prepared, I had access to the gym and shower, which was very nice and convenient. Special thanks goes to Winky, who greeted me in advance and promptly addressed my lodging needs. Although the interior of the hotel and the room appeared a bit dated, everything was still very clean and has a luxury vibe to it. The primary reason for my stay was the novelty of being in one of the tallest buildings in Shanghai. Unfortunately, it was constantly raining and the top of the building was covered by heavy fog that I literally could not see anything outside the windows. Overall a pleasant stay, but I would reconsider staying here during rainy days.

Tip top hotel with incredible views. WOH recognition was most appreciated. My only regret is that we had only one night! Comfortable bedding and one of the most relaxing baths that I’ve ever enjoyed. Thank you!

Stayed for 7 nights at the Park Hyatt on my first business trip post Covid to China. On all my previous trips I used to stay at the Ritz Carlton, but some of my colleagues recommended the Park Hyatt, so I followed their advice. Hotel is really good. Room was on the 81st floor, so you can have a fantastic view of the city. Room is really spacious, very clean, well equipped, comfortable, with all the amenities you need for a great stay. Very comfortable bed allowing for a great sleep too. The deco of the room is quite modern, and I think that they don't make a smart use of the massive space (i.e. very big dining table in a room for max 2 people), but this didn't bother me at all. Hotel is also very well located, at short walk to some landmark locations of the Pudong area of Shanghai. The gym is quite small, but the swimming pool is amazing. On the top floor, amazing view of the city and great size for a proper swim. Really enjoyed relaxing at the spa. In terms of food, only tried room service one, and once I manage to place the order (see below), food was delivered on time and good quality. Staff is very friendly and attentive, but I was really shocked to see that many of them don't speak English at all. I was surprised to see this on such an international hotel in a city like Shanghai. This is really a significant gap on their service. Examples: - ordering room services was like a "mission". One day took me 15 mins on the phone trying to make the room service person understand which wine I wanted. - same happened on another day when another room service person didn't understand "seasonal fruit plate". I was asking to talk to another person and she didn't understand what I was asking....so we were like in a loop which even turned into sadly-funny. Another issue I had was with the toilet. When I arrived to the hotel, after checking in, I saw that toilet was blocked. I would have expected housekeeping staff to check it when making the room. I had Ito call Guest Services and it was virtually impossible to make them understand what I meant with "toilet blocked" so I had to go up to reception and explain in person to someone who had to call another colleague who could understand basic English. In summary, great hotel with a few shortcomings on stuff that for an international 5-star hotel like the Park Hyatt shouldn't happen.
