Close to many things. A big park about three blacks away (must cross over freeway) which has music on weekends, food and nice relaxing areas ( has more grass than anywhere else in China I think).
Hotel has a nice restaurant $$ and in Shanghai street stall foods are few and far between. A few blacks away there are plenty of small restaurants with a wide variety of choices.
THIS IS SHANGHAI so do not expect to see much of old China. This is an upscale, world class city which represent dents the NEW China. If you want old China go to Wuhu which combines old with new without being a tourists trap. More
