Nice hotel, fairly new so it was clean, the bar in the lobby is also quite nice and the fact it is connected to the airport means it's convenient to grab a quick bite to eat in the terminal. Breakfast wasn't amazing but okay, just very simple. I'd probably only ever stay again if I flew in late and had...

As mentioned many times before, this hotel is definitely not worth it. It's name maybe suggests it is near the airport, but it is not true. You can take a drive to the airport, which takes around 15 minutes, for free, but I would prefer to take the taxi. My air conditioner didn't work, the room was quite small, not...

First this place is not 1km from the airport as it says on Tripadvisor and other sites - it's over 7km from terminal 2 so to call it the hongqiao airport motel 168 is a stretch. No English at the front desk which is fine, this is China, but both members of staff were deliberately unhelpful. I'd preliminarily reserved a...

It's an airport motel, if you are expecting anything else, think somewhere else. But after a full day of flying, driving and layovers I don't want to deal with anymore drivers or tickets I just want to take a shower and sleep then get on with my travels, it's a decent place for just that. Front desk spoke English, had...

Rooms are small, I dont expect miracles for R490.00 ( RNB 490), but everything here is dingy. Service not of the best. It is one of those places you just go to lay your head down. Rather disappointing as there are so much of them in Shanghai. Escort cards seems to be the order of the day.

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighborhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
