While the resort may once have been very nice and the villa we stayed in was large and seemed impressive at first glance, large parts are in disrepair and maintenance is sketchy. While there (we were in the grand villa) the tap on the shower came off daily and was just glued back, the bathroom sink taps leaked, the aircon remote was flat and despite telling reception the batteries were not replaced so it eventually stopped working. The grill on the stove top was dirty with old oil remnants and the stove was generally dirty looking. Housekeeping was variable on occasion. Each villa has a pool which is lovely, but the infrastructure around ours was rotting and the lounge covers under the outer pergola were disgustingly dirty. It was quite rainy most of the time we were there ( and apparently does rain there a lot of the time ). The pathways and overheads are not adequate to cope with this. We constantly had wet feet entering our accomodation due to flooding by the door. The worst part was their price gouging. The massage was priced at more than 50 times the local hourly wage and more than 3 times that at comparable hotels. They wanted to charge 400fjd for two of us to go to the local village for a tour and they only give 60 of that to the villagers. We just sent 100 to the village and skipped the tour. Then we come to the food. After seven days the brief breakfast menu with add on charges for pastries and proper coffees was just plain boring. The other food was overpriced and generally ordinary with a small choice each night. The seafood platter was nice but very expensive, as were the wine prices. In short very expensive and not worth it. On the positive side the staff were all lovely and eager to please.

After two years of not having people visit and stay at Nanuku, we were lucky enough to be among the first to be able to go to Fiji and stay at the Nanuku resort. I was more than impressed by their totally thoughtful and helpful staff. The villa we rented was absolutely beautiful and spacious. Nanuku even placed a stone welcome message on the floor of our private pool! Fresh flowers and treats greeted us each day that were left by the cleaning crew. We bought a meal plan and we couldn't be happier. The food was excellent and prepared to our liking. Every meal and every day. It surpassed our expectations. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They took us on multiple excursions: kayaking up the river, going in a motorized longboat up a nearby river to see a waterfall, taking an excursion to see the city of Suva, and placing mud crab traps in the nearby river. We caught crabs and even an eel (which we returned to the river). I have to mention a few names of staff that were especially helpful: Solo, Pela, Evie, Queenie, Josh, Miriam, and many others. They were very respectful and helpful with all kinds of details. They even accompanied us on bicycle rides to a nearby village and hiked a small hill by the resort with us. The snorkeling and hobie-cat riding were a joy. We saw a sea snake (krate) and lots of tropical fish right at the resort. We were welcomed by staff in traditional Fiji garb, and they even gathered to sing us a farewell song when we left. We attended the daily prayer and song circle that the staff performed every day - super great! I definitely rate this a must stay place!

Every aspect of our stay was gorgeous. Couldn't fault one thing. Food was brilliant, our room was superb, the setting truly magical and the staff were fantastic. We had the best start to our Honeymoon and we were made to feel really special. We would visit again in a heartbeat.

Nanuku resort is really a five star resort experience. The rooms are immaculate and the grounds are so well kept up. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful, and the view from the pool is amazing. The resort gives you bikes so that you can get around and explore, which we really loved! My only two suggestions for the resort moving forward : The resort has a meal plan you can opt in to, but we weren't super impressed with the menu selections for dinner (there are usually 2 options and for 7 days straight it was beef or snapper), however breakfast and lunch were delicious. The meal plan also does not include speciality coffees (lattes, ice coffee etc) but that is not specified. It would have been awesome to have some more options, but the food we did get was great! On the Nanuku website it lists many activities that you can do at the resort, but it does not list the prices. The activities are VERY expensive (the half day trip to their private island for snorkeling is $1450 FJD for a half day) which we were not expecting. It would have been helpful if we had known that going in so we could have planned better.

Nanuku Resort is really special place... Private, secluded, and safe... Everyone here were attentive and we enjoyed our stay very much! We specifically liked our short excursions to the waterfall, Nanuku island, and Galoa village... There are plenty to do on the excursion options. We had an experience that we will cherish for a lifetime. Our time was made memorable by the staff whom treated us like family. This resort has a cultural aspect that we do not find in many resorts... It was a pleasant surprise! We love our experience here and plan on coming back in the near future... - Garson & Joanne

We had the most incredible vacation at Nanuku resort in Fiji. We traveled quite the distance to get there, but it was 1000% worth it! It was just the reset our family needed. The team at Nanuku is so special and went above and beyond to create magical memories for our family. The team of buddies and nannies took the sweetest care of our children and made the older kids and us adults feel like family from day one (Epeli, Anna, Ben, Patrick, Silo- and all of the kids club team really!- were so amazing!). They surprised my daughter with a birthday party while we were there, since she was turning 2 on our vacation. We made the most incredible memories and are so grateful for the team at Nanuku for helping us have such an amazing experience. We stayed in a beachfront villa with a private pool, which was perfect. Housekeeping services are on-point (thank you, Mini, and others!). We were always greeted with a big smile, Bula and by name, by everyone on property. We felt like VIPs our entire trip. My boys got to know Rusi at the bar, who took great care of them, and we were spoiled at every meal in the restaurant by the incredible dining team (La, Va, Carolina, Queeny & many others). Meri was the best concierge and helped organized our travel and activities before arrival. Our buddies made sure we were able to do whatever we hoped to during our time in Fiji and kept our kids busy. I could go on and on- this such a special place with the most special people.

Our one week stay was not long enough. Our 3 x kids, aged 10, 5 and 3 continue to ask when we are going back to Fiji so they can go back to kids club and their buddies. It's a place that we'd left way too long to visit, we'll be going back as soon as we are able.

Nanuku is a wonderful boutique resort, a true hidden gem, close enough to Suva (50 minutes), offering a great getaway for families. Friendliest staff you will ever encounter! Our stay was delightful and we cannot wait to get back.
