My wife and I just returned home from a wonderful 5 night stay at Nanuku Resort. We found the resort and the staff to be among the best we've ever experienced. It was a wonderful stay. First, the resort. The grounds were impeccably maintained with lovely tropical trees, shrubs, and flowers throughout. The resort is pretty spread out so we ended up doing a bit of walking to get between our room and the lobby. I was impressed by the number of staff out working on the landscaping. The lobby, bar, and restaurant area was also very clean and well maintained and decorated with local art pieces and lots of wood throughout. Again, there were staff out cleaning and doing maintenance constantly. Our room was very comfortable, well appointed and larger than we were expecting. We found it perfectly clean and everything was in working order when we checked in. The welcome champagne and fruit tray were a lovely touch. My only issue with the room was that the hot water didn't last long enough for 2 warm showers. Not really a huge deal in Fiji but we noticed. As nice as the facility is the staff is what made the stay memorable. Every single person we encountered was exactly the right level of friendly and helpful. It's clear the staff were encouraged to chat with guests but give them space if that's what they wanted. Nathan and Paul in the bar and Mo in the restaurant were wonderfully friendly without being overbearing. Thanks for all the rugby knowledge Nathan! We also very much enjoyed the cultural activities with Amena. We never were able to get fire going but thanks for trying to teach us Amena and Papa Leo. Also thank you Kelly-Dawn for taking the time to do some fish ID and chat with us about Fiji. And be preared to say Bula often. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a friendly Bula! when we passed. We ate most of our meals at the resort. I'm a bit of a food snob but found the food to be very good. The menu offered a good mix of Fijian food and things more familiar to my American palette. The pastries and fruit in the morning and the Kokoda sampler were especially excellent. My only feedback is that eating was pretty fancy. We would have appreciated snacks in a casual setting instead of a formal meal occasionally. To sum up, Nanuku is a lovely resort with even lovelier staff. We enjoyed our stay immensely. …
After two years of not having people visit and stay at Nanuku, we were lucky enough to be among the first to be able to go to Fiji and stay at the Nanuku resort. I was more than impressed by their totally thoughtful and helpful staff. The villa we rented was absolutely beautiful and spacious. Nanuku even placed a stone welcome message on the floor of our private pool! Fresh flowers and treats greeted us each day that were left by the cleaning crew. We bought a meal plan and we couldn't be happier. The food was excellent and prepared to our liking. Every meal and every day. It surpassed our expectations. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They took us on multiple excursions: kayaking up the river, going in a motorized longboat up a nearby river to see a waterfall, taking an excursion to see the city of Suva, and placing mud crab traps in the nearby river. We caught crabs and even an eel (which we returned to the river). I have to mention a few names of staff that were especially helpful: Solo, Pela, Evie, Queenie, Josh, Miriam, and many others. They were very respectful and helpful with all kinds of details. They even accompanied us on bicycle rides to a nearby village and hiked a small hill by the resort with us. The snorkeling and hobie-cat riding were a joy. We saw a sea snake (krate) and lots of tropical fish right at the resort. We were welcomed by staff in traditional Fiji garb, and they even gathered to sing us a farewell song when we left. We attended the daily prayer and song circle that the staff performed every day - super great! I definitely rate this a must stay place!…
There was nothing about this resort that we did not love. The staff, services, and accommodations were excellent. Our room was awesome, with a LARGE pool and an awesome view. Every member of the staff was friendly and always available and willing to assist guests with every aspect of their stay. At one point, my eyeglasses broke and needed a minor repair. I took them to the front desk and left them there. A few hours later, they had been fixed and once again worked perfectly. I could not even tell they had been broken. I sense the employees there view themselves as one big family dedicated to providing the best service to all of their guests. BULA to everyone and a very special VANAKA VAKA LEVU! I can't wait to return.
Excellent resort and super excellent caring and loving staff. Great activities and a place to take a good break to rejuvenate. Don't count on the "Wifi available" as its as good as like its not there.
Just an absolutely amazing resort. Our honeymoon villa was incredible, and the staff were constantly keeping it nice for us. The restaurant was great- I had the best Indian food of my life there. A true highlight of the resort was the staff- incredibly friendly and helpful. Nanuku far exceeded our expectations. We did water water rafting (totally recommend) and a waterfall hike that was awesome.
Our family of 4 had the most magical 5 day stay at Nanuku and we dream of returning soon. This was our 1st time visiting Fiji and we fell in love. The resort is gorgeous, the rooms renovated, the pool relaxing and the food delicous. But the most memorable moments and memories are with everyone that works there. There is a genuine sense of kindness and joy that is shared by everyone and sincere invitation to understand and appreciate Fijian culture. Nanuku is a small family friendly (and couple friendly) resort that has this special way of making everyone feel welcome. Our 2 boys (ages 7 and 9) loved their buddy, Ben, and nearly cried on our last day. We met many guests there that were returning for their 2nd or 3rd time.......This place is a true gem.
The ENTIRE staff at the hotel were so helpful from having food waiting for us upon our late arrival, food service was great and the bellmen were very attentive in helping make transportation arrangements for me so late at night. Love the rooms; they describe Fiji and great craftsmanship!
What a beautiful resort on the Pacific Harbour. My first time down this way & Nanuku & staff are truly a hidden gem. We did a day pass for 2 days & were treated like royalty. We were given a buggy tour around the resort to view the variety of accommodation choices..whoa! Stunning! Our host who looked after us Tia(T3) & Talea(T4) which made the 4xT lol. All the staff were perfect & helpful. If you haven’t been down this way before do check out their website. We hope to be back Xx T1 & T2 x
Once again- don't believe the brochure! This is a nice property but it is very isolated on the lone side of the island quite far from the international airport. After staying for many days over the holidays, I grew tired of the same food and same rotating menu. On rainy days you are relegated to your villa as there is little to do at the resort...or even near the resort. Be sure to book excursions in advance when possible. Food quality was above average, but not gourmet. Drinks were made by well-meaning staff but not professional bartenders. Wine selection was below average (there is a wine shop within biking distance and I recommend that as an option). Front office staff and management were marginal. Lots of young kids and with only one pool for the entire resort, the pool and pool area were full of screaming kids all of the time. Would be great to have some "no kids at the pool" time during the day. No relaxation there. Not a great resort for adults, but seems to be popular with families (drop the kids off with nanny and enjoy the day!). The beachfront villa was very nice and any minor issue was quickly resolved. Housekeeping staff did a great job. The hotel beach (great sand with gentle waves due to resort being within a "lagoon") is adjacent to a very public beach, but that was surprisingly never an issue and should not be of concern. Hotel staff- like Fijian people in general- were very nice and friendly. Resort could use some upkeep and updating, especially to common areas like bar/restaurant and pool area. Overall moderate value for the very high price. This is not a 5 star property. Lots of better options at this price point, especially the resorts on Savusavu. …
From the moment we arrived, the people working at Nanuku made sure we were taken care of so we could get focus on just simply relaxing. The location of the resort was amazing. The residence we shared with my in-laws felt private without restricting any of the all-important ocean views and with plenty of room for us all to co-exist. The service was truly pleasant with Fiji touches that felt authentic.
