Chose Matamanoa as the wind-down resort following a week long Yasawa sailboat charter. Facilities, at least the beach-front bure we chose, are awesome. Got in a couple of dives and had a great time just hiking around the island. Food is not up to five star expectations and service is slow, albeit served by the nicest and sweetest people on... More

Absolute paradise. Incredible people who run the island and work there. They make you feel like family. The bungalows were very clean and private. Highly recommended for honeymooners or spontaneous romantic trip!

Leading up to our 10th wedding anniversary, we decided it was finally time to get overseas and have the honeymoon we should have had all those years ago. The travel agent recommended Matamanoa, so after a few hours looking at the website and reviews, we knew we had found the perfect place. The staff are amazing and make you feel... More

We stayed here last week for 5 nights for our honeymoon, this really is Paradise. We were in Villa 14 which is isolated, perfect for honeymooners. If budget permits I recommend getting the helicopter there, such fun! The villa had everything we needed. I read a lot of reviews that the food wasn’t great but we found is fantastic, no... More

My husband and I stayed at Matamanoa for our 6 night honeymoon and every moment was relaxing and wonderful. The island is beautiful as are the staff with their friendly, warm, service at all times. We stayed in a beachfront bure (B18) and the room was cute, romantic, and had just about everything we needed. The plunge pool was a... More

We were at Matamanoa for our honeymoon and we enjoyed every moment on the island. The staff were sincere, friendly and the service was excellent. There were many activities to choose from and we really enjoyed the island tours and snorkelling around the beaches. The place was just beautiful. The food tasted great as well and I had their steak... More

Like the previous post, there was wind! We stayed 5 nights and the first couple of days were really windy - too windy to snorkel etc. We lay about reading etc and that was fine. The next couple of days were much better for snorkelling and we saw turtles, a shark and lots of beautiful fish. We did a guided... More

Matamanoa Island Resort came at the tail end of a week in Fiji. My travel agent and I picked it because of it's access to snorkeling and it's relative closeness to Nadi International Airport. It is reachable by helicopter and by fast boats from Port Denaru in a little over an hour. My daughter and I only had two days... More

Stayed for 5 nights and it blew a gale everyday, unable to snorkel or paddle or swim in the pool (cold) the ocean was a washing machine. No television, WiFi have to pay option of 1 hour or 24 hours. Library needs to be dumped into the recycle, I should have left my books there , they have board games... More

How can you describe this experience? Your biggest decision of the the day is whether to snorkel , swim , sun , scuba or sit in your plunge pool. Sorry .... or drink from 8am.{not for my beloved and me }. Food was great. Service was impeccable. Grog was sooooo expensive [TAKE YOUR OWN IF WINE OR SPIRIT DRINKER] Beer... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Matamanoa Island is an intimate and secluded, adults only Fijian Resort. We are set in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands approximately 30 kilometers west of Nadi International Airport - experience a true gift of nature. The Island boasts a volcanic cone jutting out of the azure waters of this unspoiled marine sanctuary. Clad with native bush and palm trees, the brilliance of the vegetation contrasts magnificently with the white curved sandy beaches and pristine coral reefs. Combined with nature, we have created a haven for those who want to relinquish the pressures of a busy lifestyle. This is for those who dream of peace and tranquility. To achieve this special atmosphere, Matamanoa Island Resort has adopted a year round policy of not permitting day-trippers or children under the age of 16 years. ... more   less
