My wife and I spent 6 nights on Tadrai and left with mixed feelings about the resort. I have rated it as 4 stars but feel it is probably more like a 3 and a half.
They market this place as an adult only luxury resort but this is in many way misleading. I am going to try and give both the negatives and the positives.
The beach outside the resort is tidal and very rocky which was a bit of a disappointment to us. However the staff will take you to a nearby sandbar or deserted island by boat for a packed picnic where the water is crystal clear and the sand powdery white.
The villas are roomy and comfortable but in desperate need of a make over. It looks like very little has been done to them since the resort opened.
We found the food to be a little hit and miss. Breakfast was always good however lunch and dinner was very limited. You were given a choice between 2 or 3 items which at times did make it hard to select something that suited. Considering there is never more than 10 people to cater for it is understandable why the resort works this way but it does mean you can struggle at times to select something you would like to eat. Must say however the staff will try and accommodate your wishes if they can. An example of this was when we took trips over to the sandbar/island we asked if it would be possible to take toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches instead of something off the menu and this was done for us.
The biggest positive of this resort is the staff. Nancy, Freddy, Rocky, Lavenia, Cassie and all the rest really try their hardest to make sure you enjoy your time with them at the resort. Management need to really be aware how lucky they are to have the staff they have as without them this resort would really struggle.
I think if you are considering going to Tadrai 4 maybe 5 nights is ample.
Did we have a nice time? Yes it was enjoyable and relaxing. Would we return, probably not.

Absolutely the best experience. The service is phenomenal. Everyone on the staff deserves kudos for making it the perfect experience. Asa, Rocky, Veka, Levenia, Sammy, Freddy, Philly all worked hard to make everything perfect. So some specifics:
Let's start with what some people have said is a problem. I disagree. This is a remote island with rooms right on the cost. The bathroom is open-air and connects outdoors. Yes, things are weathered. Yes, you may share a bathroom with a gecko. None of those things should discourage you. That is the reason you go to a resort like this and don't stay at the large chain where every room is exactly the same. Everything here is clean as can be! The rooms opening up to the outdoors is perfect for taking in the beauty of the island. If you are afraid someone will look into your room, close the blinds, but there are only five rooms, no one is looking!

Now what makes it special. the staff will all know your name. We celebrated our anniversary and Asa researched the color associated with that anniversary and set up a special table overlooking the ocean decked out with the color. Every day they would take us to a different place to snorkel, have lunch on a sandbar or private island, and set up a private beach to watch the sunset. Have a traditional Kava ceremony. It was all perfect and we felt like family. Vinaka.

The Tadrai is phenomenal resort well worth 5 stars. From the quaint villas, beautiful beach, outstanding staff and amenities, it is a great place to sit back and enjoy. I must say that all the staffs members are so friendly and warm. They go above and beyond in every way. They truly are what make Tadrai so special. Nancy, the assistant manager is one word: phenomenal! Asa the bar/restaurant manager is superb and makes sure guests get what they need. The villas are very clean and the housekeepers leave beautiful messages made from palm leaves on the bed daily. Such a sweet touch. I absolutely recommend the Tadrai for couples who want to get away for a relaxing time whether for a honeymoon, birthday, anniversary or just because!! You won’t regret it.

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon. We had never been to Fiji and didn’t know anyone else who had been, so we didn’t know what we should do and fortunately came across Tadrai online and just booked it on a whim. Best decision ever! We had such an amazing experience that was catered to our every need and want. We felt like such VIP’s. There are only 5 villas on the resort and everything is included. Food, drinks, excursions, EVERYTHING. And no kids! In the beginning of our stay they set up an excursion with wine and cheese on a private island just the two of us. It was that moment that we realized that we came across a very special place. A hidden gem that we want to keep secret yet share with the world. We went fishing and they prepared the fish we caught. We went to the sandbar, we snorkeled at honeymoon island we went to the village on Malolo island where we were happy to buy our souvenirs to help support the locals. We even learned all about coconuts at the resort! On our free time we enjoyed our private plunge pool and beach where we drank our adult beverages and relaxed to the sound of the ocean. We never thought we’d stay at a place where the maximum amount of guests is 10 people. You really can’t get a more private experience than that. The food was tasty and extremely fresh and they had different options for everyone’s taste buds. At one point we had asked the server what someone was doing in the water and he said “catching dinner.” On our last night they prepared the best lobster we had ever had and surprised us with a milk bath to relax in. It is bittersweet leaving this place but comforting to know we will be back and can’t wait to see our extended Fijian family that we made.

My extended family and employees have just returned from 8 days on Tadrai Island Resort. The resort only holds 5 Couples (a unit each couple) at any one time in 5 Star luxury. The accomodation is spacious, and comfortable with spectacular sea views to wake up to. The food was spectacular. The drinks are included in the package, so we never had to put our hand in our pocket to pay for anything. But the best part of our holiday was our interaction with the staff. They, without exception opened their hearts and allowed us to enter their lives. We arrived as guests and left as friends. If you want a well equipped gym, tailored walking tracks, lap pools and glitz this is probably not for you. If you want to interact with beautiful people, be well fed and relax this beautiful place it is perfect. We fished, we Snorkelled, we travelled to nearby sandbars, and Islands, we played creative Netball, and Pool polo with all the staff involved, we laughed and cried with the staff and were very sad to say goodbye. We had a personal Massage available for a half hour everyday. Each unit has its own plunge pool. We just loved it.

Because we were ready to pay and experience the “Best of the Best”, we chose very carefully and there were several 5 Star Fiji all inclusive resorts. In hindsight, it is hard to imagine that there is a better experience in Fiji!! We were picked up by the Tadrai Island Resort boat, brought to our Villa where luggage was delivered within minutes. Upon arrival the staff sang a heartfelt welcome song, given an arrival libation and introduced around. Yet if you want privacy, there can be no better. There are five oceanfront villas each with a beautiful, air conditioned, bedroom area, connected to a large outside shower, humongous tub facing the ocean, with a wonderfull plunge pool, and a full covered lanai. There was a stocked refrigerator and simply a call away from anything you could want. This included your own snorkel tours, sunset rides, private picnics at neighboring islands, and so much more. Yet, most importantly, the experience was about the staff, roughly two for every guest! We got to know the staff as individuals and wonderful FIJI people! We would have taken them home with us if we could. When we left there was more music and lots of shared tears and hugs and exchange of e mail addresses. This is a LONG review that still is inadequate to relate the wonder of our six days and five nights. Our hearts were touched and we left a small piece at that resort. “ Nobody does it better”, We will go back. They are our friends!

We booked the entire resort, for a business/ holiday trip, and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms, and the staff always went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely fabulous
From the spectacular meals, prepared by chef Joe, the free flowing drinks, prepared by Keli, the beautiful rooms, with the spectacular bathrooms, complete with plunge pool and huge stone bathtub.
Nancy, the resort manager was the loveliest, most caring lady who made sure everything was perfect for us
The massage ladies did a fantastic job, massaging away our aches and pains, and on the last day, the ladies were treated to a very luxurious bath, complete with bougainvillea flowers.
Rocky, our activities coordinator made every day something to look forward to and the rest of the staff always made sure that we were well looked after.
We had a cooking demonstration on the beach, using fresh local ingredients, fishing and snorkelling trips, a walk to the local village and on the last night, we had a beach bonfire after the beautiful staff farewelled us with a traditional Fijian ceremony.
I absolutely loved every minute of my stay, and was very sad to have to say goodbye to our Fiji family.
We will definitely be back.

This resort will go beyond your expectations, it did for us. 4 days was too short, 5 might have been perfect and anything beyond would be fabulous. The forecast had thunderstorms our entire stay, but as they will tell you, just wait to see what happens because it's no always accurate. The first 2 days were cloudy with some rain, but the had a day and a half of sunshine. We were so grateful to see the sunny side before leaving.

Highlights: delicious fresh food, the staff are friendly/helpful/caring, the experiences are genuinely magical, the entire resort itself overlooking the ocean and other islands is breathtaking.

You have the option to get to know other guests, which we enjoyed but it's also a perfect place for a secluded holiday. The Fijian culture is very community oriented so I would recommend enjoying that inclusive atmosphere. It was clear the staff enjoyed it more when the guests were all gathering, too.

Chef Joe and the other cooks came up with unique dishes that knocked out socks off every time. The Kokoda was my favorite we tried since it's so uniquely Fijian (like ceviche with coconut).

The bartenders (Sikeli and Moses for us) were so wonderful, they make meal times and lounging by the pool a delight.

The cleaners Noci and Angela were wonderful, kind and considerate of our needs. We also had a massage with two ladies who were very skilled and the little spa hut above the beach is so beautiful.

Nancy, Rocky and Captain Tony made the excursions feel like once in a lifetime experiences. Rocky esp has a great personality and shares a lot of Fijian culture with guests. Snorkelling, picnicking on a private beach, the sandbar, the Fijian coconut demonstration and visiting the village were all incredible!

My advice besides length of stay is to be patient booking activities. They're often weather dependent and since it's a small resort, you've got a small team coordinating everything. Plus they're on "island time" as they say. They'll make sure you have a special stay there, but that's another reason the length of stay is better longer. You don't come here to jam pack every day and you'll struggle to do this if you try.

We were sad to leave, in fact the farewell song made me cry it was so beautiful. Highly recommend to everyone!

My partner and I had booked our Christmas & New Year holiday to Cambodia to find out at the Sydney airport the Cambodian Immigration visa rules had changed and we were not allowed to travel.

We decided last minute (at the airport) to rebook the holiday to Fiji and booked the 1st three nights at Tadrai, somehow I think the holiday gods have guided us here.

Not only is the resort beautiful with only five exclusive villas (amazing villas) with the best bathroom, beds, private pool off your balcony looking over the beach which makes the accommodation outstanding and totally worth every cent and more.

What has made our stay here so amazing has been the delicious meals, cocktails and bar service, and spa treatments are so relaxing but overall what has made our stay so good has been the beautiful people who have looked after us, they have made us think it’s not work for them but part of their values to make us feel so welcome. To everyone who works at Tadrai you have made the three nights we’ve had here simply the best and we have Call decided to book another four nights for the last nights of our holiday.

Thank you to everyone at Tadrai - Toby & Paul we can’t wait to come back!

Tadrai is one of a kind and offers amazing experiences. You will be having a picnic on a private island, a sunset cruise, fantastic food & drinks, and mingling together with the other guests at a Kava ceremony. The resort is only five rooms, with personalized itin and services throughout your stay. Rocky has been fantastic taking care of all our transport and events & the F&B team made amazing food & drinks. While the hardware of the resort could use some updates (e.g., small reno, more electric outlets, USB, etc.), the software more than made up for it because the team was excellent & personable & you would very much appreciate their hospitality.
